just paid to activate account ( was a trial account )_can not activate Denali live data

Hi
I have tried Sierra for a few days but as for the first trial I was unable to get real live data ..so my charts would only update at end of day ..or some would start to update then stop etc...
I've sent emails and I was told that I probably did not get "real time" data...that I would need to activate account ...whcih I did today.
I also said I had no trading account/ no broker and wanted to use the charts to learn in real market conditions etc...I was referred to the link about Denali data feed ..so long story short here I am trying to activate it ( free the first month ) but to complete the "agreement" at the bottom of the "agreement page" ..one needs to indicate broker name/ trading account number ... then there's the page to activate Denali /one needs to select the CME service we want ..I could not find one corresponding to the monthly fee so I clicked on " CME for non professional with market depth" at $10 a month and it does not work ..unable to activate I get following message :

Failed to activate the 'CME with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts' exchange.
The Data Feed is not enabled on the account.


i have tried several times .
...I have paid for the month starting today but still no live data feed enabled ...this is so confusing , can it be resolved please ? It's the second sleepless night just to navigate the site , learning the features etc... Can you please let me know how to proceed / can you help me with this issue or else I am unable to use Sierra service ..and I just activated the account.PLEASE

First thing we want you to do is to update Sierra Chart to the current version:

And then use the Delayed Exchange Data Feed:

Do not bother with real-time data until such time you have alive funded trading account. It is too complicated and expensive otherwise.

a- I have updated Sierra chart successfully.
b- Well "live data" was kind of the reason I paid the service from being on trial so I could get a "real feel" ..I already have two charting tools one is "delayed" so I don't need another one ...I wish I was told about that before starting to pay for the service especially as I got blank chart on friday and ended up "loosing the equivalent of 4 days of subscription with bank holiday on Monday" .

When I was on trial I asked by email and I was told / or more accurately sent to the Denali data feed link...and it was my understanding I could get the first month free for live data .
so I signed up , paid for service and started the process etc...except the Denali data feed I needed to give a trading account name etc..So my question is whether support can set this up for me please because there is no point for me as it is ..it's disappointing as I was so looking forward to it ...in essence I a paying and I am having same as a trial without the profile ..my profile charts are blank.

So by how much is it delayed please ?

I am also confused as there is a US30 and the YMM20 and I don't get the same price and there's a substantial difference ..what is US30 ? ( I've compared with the "cash" market and it is not that either )

Please let me know about the one month Denali live feed as I need to contact "account" otherwise.

PS : I was unable to use the "market replay" ..did not work...there's a pop up menu with 3 choices ..which one is correct ?

You need to be on the Advanced package for TPO Profile charts. See below.

To change your Sierra Chart Service Package, select "Help >> Account Control Panel" on the Sierra Chart program menu. On the displayed webpage, click on the "Set Service Package for Renewal" link.

You will need to login if you are not currently logged in.

In the "Available Services >> Choose Usage Time Service Package" frame, select the Service Package that you want to set your account to. Press the "Set" button.

The remaining service usage time on your account will be adjusted based upon the cost of the package you are changing to. If the new package is a higher-priced package, then the usage time will be reduced due to the higher price.

There is no charge for changing your Sierra Chart service package. Only your Sierra Chart account usage time ending date is adjusted.

ok thank you

But my MAIN query is about live data and whether you can provide me with the free first mont of Denali data feed for 20$ ...I have tried to activate this service and still no success ...can you please assist me with this..no point for me to upgrade the service as I am not using it at all ..on delayed price action .

It is written on the website that Sierra can provide the first month of Denali live data feed...then it is 20$ a month ..and when I went into the "menu" to select the CME data feed I could not find one at that price...there was one for CME alone with market depth at $10 / month..I am fine with that one if I can get it . Please

The primary issue is simply the CME Group's requirement that you have a live, funded trading account in order to qualify for the lower priced Non-Professional exchange fees.

Since you do not have a trading account, you do not qualify. You would be best to just use the Delayed Data.

If you absolutely have to have real-time data prior to having a trading account, then there are two options:

1. Proceed as a Professional user and pay the higher fees (110US per month per sub exchange).

Complain to the CME about these kinds of statements. We do not need to hear this from you whether it is true or not. It is totally inappropriate to be telling us this. This is not our problem.



What we can do for you is extend your Sierra Chart account by another 15 days. We have done that. And you also have access to delayed data which is more than efficient for evaluation purposes.

And we have set your account to package 5 to take advantage of the Numbers Bars study. Going forward that will be 36 USD per month.

You can, but of course to take advantage of the CME market data at the nonprofessional fees requires that you have a funded account. For now you can take a trial of one of the 110USD/month CME exchange fees. You can start that next month if you want. And the Denali data feed will be free for the first month excluding exchange fees. But there is a one-month trial of one of the CME fees you can take advantage of.


Even if I send 200$ to AMP trading ..I need to have the account opening approved : takes 3 days and then wire money from Europe..another 10 days ...so in essence my monthly subscription is gone to waste ..

I wished I was told that prior to subscribing....I was told something different that I would be able to use one free month of Denali data feed ...I am not making this up..it is the links you've sent prior to this one ...and considering the amount of stuff to read each time ...

Hi,
I think there are misunderstandings ..

when I first contacted you I read & understood that I could use one month free of live data .
Even one single page of Sierra support there are so many different links...there is obviously a misunderstanding because this is not the way I read and understood "..

if it is "complex" for you , imagine for a newbie like me ( and English is not my first language ) ..I just wanted something " simple" to get started...I DID NOT MEAN TO BE RUDE ...the thing is I can't find a broker which allows to trade stocks and futures / options and which belongs to your list of preferred brokers..I also had a look at Kinetics ( don't know if it would be ok to work with Sierra chart, they have a pretty low package for live data at Level 1 : not sure if level 1 is enough to get MP/ footprint chart (please let me know if it would be a viable solution for CME/CBOT products) I am looking into possible / viable options.
As for the rest ( package- time extension) I THANK YOU ..and I am sorry for the delayed thank you note as I just logged in to support as I received a mail yesterday saying they were sorry for the delayed answer ...so I logged in and just found out about your note...I did not know about your gesture AGAIN THANK YOU . Again I did not mean to be rude , I just (still) don't understand all of it.. ..I though there was "no condition" attached as I read " so you might ask, how would one begin to practice trading futures using live data before you have a trading account ? In this case what you can do is take advantage of the exchange free trial which gives you up to 30 days with no exchange fees for real time CME data "

And I only asked about data feed and did not bother you with tech questions because I knew I had already "solicited" support..

Since this really is not working out for you, we will be happy to refund the money that you have put towards Package 5 and then refund the total back to your card.

Dear Madam/ Dear Sir ,

Thank you for your responses.

I am a little confused since the previous message was about a refund ticket ( THANK YOU / see post 87111 )

And I would agree with you that's $110 a month + Sierra fees + Sierra subscription is a bit pricey when you can have the same data for roughly $20 /month ...so I looked around

perhaps I read comprehend the following wrong but I've found out on somewhere on Sierra that live data for CBOT /DOW and Nasdaq are roughly $10 each/ month + fees to Sierra as well ...however I’ve found about this alternative too late during the month of June and I would have had to pay the full subscription for barely 10 days remaining until end of month …
I have started the registration process with AMP via a broker but this clearing firm asks for 2 phones numbers and fixed address ...I was sharing a flat before coronavirus so we all had a mobile phone and no landline .After pandemic and before lockdown left the city to be "lockdown" in the countryside at a guest home etc..all of this "personal" to explain that current situation does not fit their requirements..so I asked to an introducing broker and they seem ok and suggested another clearing firm etc...I 'd be quite happy to go with this broker although they don't do stocks trading ..and offered a trial with live data for me to try Sierra ... it's with Rhythmic which apparently you no longer support ... problem is I don't know how I can save zip file into Sierra ..whenever I download the files and open them I don't know how to "migrate" those files into Sierra folder ...

I haven't used Sierra this month as I have to rely on "old basic charting tool" and can't run both on laptop .I log in to set up things after I watch videos on youtube ...I am still looking for market internals like NYSE ticks bars and ADDline( mine is just straight up ) ...

Thank you for offering a refund . Would you be willing to "cancel" June instead and "freeze" so I can hopefully start after I find a solution ( going to try Rythmic first providing I manage to get those zip files into Sierra )

PS: Would a Trade Station account be ok for live data please ? .. ( even though it does not belong to your preferred list of brokers.
