How to Post a Message for Support

[Locked] - IB filled order dissapear

Hello,

Have some issue with my order send via IB.

When I put my order with attached orders (stop and target) it come right to IB.
After the order execution the parent order dissapears (it somehow dissapear) and I cant figure why?
It dissapears from the chart and I have to go on my IB platform to close it.

When I use flatten it just cancel child orders.

Could you please help? Did I done something wrong on my settings?

This is a common problem.

This really continues to be one of the biggest Interactive Brokers jokes. The fact that they are not capable of even resolving this after 10 years.

One question we have is we want you to look at the Trade Positions tab:
Trading Information Windows: Trade Positions Window

Do you see any Trade Positions where the symbol is just a number? This will help us give us some kind of clue as to what potentially could be going wrong.

Hello,

In my Trade Positions is not any of the trades i have done before.
Is it because I have turned SC off and log in back?

What I have did after is that, in my TAL i had to change closing order done via IB, because in SC it was showing like another opened position

I see that I have disabled Trade >> Use Fill Calculated Positions - Global.
Could be that?

We recommend keeping this disabled for sure.

If you want to use the Order Fill Calculated position, do it for individual charts:
Trading Information Windows: Using Order Fill Calculated Trade Positions

Interactive Brokers is not capable of providing Position data reliably. Yes, it is that simple and stupid. The documentation does make this clear.

I have found this also:

In the case of when using the Interactive Brokers Trading service, when Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Settings >> Use IB Provided Position Average Price is set to True, then anywhere the Trade Position Average Price is displayed in Charts and Trade DOMs it will be this Trade Service Position Average Price from Interactive Brokers. This Position Average Price includes commissions. If you do not want to use this, then set that option to False.

Soo, how is possible that i dont see any trade in the Trade Orders and Positions?
Account balance is OK but there is nothing...

i dont have any active order or position, soo i cant see them in my Orders and Positions,

let me explain again what happend:

I have put BUY LIMIT order with attached orders (stop-loss and profit target) and that i was seen on bought (TWS and SC)
after I get filled the attached order was there but my position line in SC dissapear, and that never happend to me, so after a few seccond i have press the FLATTEN button on my SC
the flatten button is used to send a market order that will close the position and canceles attached orders from OCO groups
but it didnt close the order because the trade position wasnt there
so I switch to my TWS and there i have put the market order to cancel the position
and that market position, which was closing my position in SC it apper like another open position
soo in SC i did not receive that order like CLOSING order but like OPENING another


I was contacting a IB and they replied this:

The problem is we are not really sure how SC works at all. For such cases we usually recommend contacting the third party developers directly, because they know their platform and they how and which data is being requested from the TWS, also they know how to gather all the relevant information and submit it to us directly. In your case I would recommend you setting the logging levels to details and then if the issue ever appears again, let us know, but again, this might not help much with identifying why SC might not have seen the position as a position, because we do not know how they are requesting and handling positions

But yes, for us it's almost impossible to troubleshoot such issues unfortunately since we do not know the logic behind SC and how they are handling stuff. If they have checked your logs and they are sure that TWS isn't doing/sending something correctly, you can ask them to directly report this issue to us with evidence (logs), we will then escalate it to the developers

You would only see this Position in Sierra Chart for about 10 seconds and then it would disappear unless you are using the order fill calculated Position for the chart.

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:

Reconnect to the data feed:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

Wait 1 minute and provide the Message Log again following these instructions:

We do not think you are going to solve this. You will have to leave Interactive Brokers or discontinue use of Sierra Chart. Maybe you have not understood what the documentation says.

Interactive Brokers has demonstrated to us clearly that they do not have the ability to resolve this problem so we are not going to contact them about it.

We do not see any problem with Interactive Brokers returning Position data even for the live account in that log you posted. So at the moment it looks as though you would not have the problem.

At least the problem that we are used to seeing is not showing up.

Would be best to wait until you have the problem and post a copy of the Message Log at that time.

For the last I have control my settings for connection between SC and IB, but IB have added a few things that are not in your setup instruction page: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/InteractiveBrokers.php#SetupInstructions

I have attached picture of my settings.

Could you please check if there is not something that could cause the problem?

The problem is because Interactive Brokers programmers are incompetent. Please understand this.

Do you understand what we are saying? Acknowledge that you understand what we are saying.

This discussion has gone on far too long. This is the nonsense you are dealing with, incompetency at Interactive Brokers and it is that simple.

Post this all over the Internet.

They need to take responsibility and solve the problem.

It is very sad they are putting you and us through this kind of nonsense.

Now others who may be reading this may say well why do not you Sierra Chart contact Interactive Brokers and tell about the problem. We did. More than once. They do not solve it or understand or even recognize the nonsense of their answer to us (which is actually documented our Interactive Brokers page). Further communication with them in this regard is simply a waste of our time.

Next time you have the problem go to the Sierra Chart Message Log through Window >> Message Log.

Reading from the bottom up, look for these messages:
Interactive Brokers | Requesting Trade Positions snapshot and updates (IB account data updates) for account: U227* | 2018-01-10 19:27:46

Interactive Brokers | Received Trade Positions download end message for account U227* | 2018-01-10 19:27:46

If you see them after a connection to Interactive Brokers, then this indicates there was a request for the trade position data and there was a response from Interactive Brokers. So if you are missing Trade Position updates, then contact Interactive Brokers and make reference to these messages.

Soo, now I have done 1 trade againt, to see what is happening.
But it was the same like 2 times before, my position line disappears.

But what is wierd, in my message log is nothing about this trade.
The trade was 10 minutes ago but the last thing in massage log is from 14:52 CET.

Only in my Trade Service Log is this:
