We work with barchart for the U.S. Equities data and they have your account tagged as a Professional. Most likely due to your email address.

Since you have activated the Non-Professional exchange, but they have you listed as a Professional, you are not able to get data.

Thanks John - I bought Sierra today just for this service.
I've now got an Eikon terminal instead.

Can I just cancel everything done today and get a refund please?

As we suspected, the issue is your email address. It looks too much like a professional trading company. If you can change your email and resubmit the exchange agreement, then they will change your status and you can continue to use Sierra Chart.

But, if you do not want to, then that is fine. We will not be able to refund the Exchange fees, as the exchanges do not give refunds. We can refund the rest for you.

Just please verify what you want us to do.

We have refunded the usage time back to your Services Balance and opened an Account Support Ticket for a refund to your credit card. It will take a day or two for the refund to process back to your card.

I had the exact same problem as above. Most likely due to the email I was using tied to a business. I have re-submitted the forms after changing my account email as indicated here. Is there anything more than can be done to help resolve this issue? I email barchart also, but that was before I found this thread and re-submitted with the changed email address. My data is currently not working and still says "exchange not authorized" when I load.

Yes, the email associated with your account, along with your company's website address caused barchart to classify you as a professional. There was a message added to your account regarding this.

If you have changed your email and resubmitted the forms, then we will check with Barchart on the status of your account. We will let you know the results in this thread when we have them. It usually only takes a few hours.

Actually, it was the lack of the employment information that caused the issue.

Barchart has updated your information and set you as a Non-Professional, so you should be getting the data now.

It seems like it should be working, however equity data is not streaming and I still get the yellow error message on the chart when I load the program. The error says:

"Symbol is unknown. Click for symbol information. Exchange not authorized"

I've restarted the software a few times and I've gone back through all the steps on Setup Instructions.

I should mention also that nothing has been changed since it was working yesterday before they flagged the application and blocked the feed.

Can you please advise next steps to take?

Please exit from Sierra Chart and start again, but use the Forced Login option. Refer to the following:

If you still have a problem after doing this, then get us your message log by following these instructions:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We will then determine what the problem is.

Perhaps you just updated something on your end, or perhaps there was a delay in the feed coming back online, but data is now once again flowing and the error message has gone away.

It appears this issue is now resolved.
