Hello, In the section : Sierra Chart Server Settings: CME Exchange Data Feed Server Address and Port Override (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special) The ping request for the ds40.sierracharts.com (Location: New Zealand) server is working perfectly. However, the ping request for the ds14-2.sierracharts.com (Location: Germany) server is not working. Is there an issue with this server? What is the server address with the lowest ping for a client located in France? Best regards |

We will see if we can enable this. Definitely the lowest latency is going to be ds14-2.sierracharts.com for France.

I would really appreciate to be able to ping the server ds14-2.sierracharts.com too, to make sure its latency is good enough for Portugal. |

Hi, How to see ping / latency (to CME) realtime on the chart window edge somewhere? (like on Quantower or MT4/5) Did not find it in the Ch settigns > Performance.

Do you have any news regarding this issue? That server is still not responding to ping tests. |

Most of our servers are setup to ignore "Ping" requests in order to help avoid "Denial of Service" attacks.

From the UK, what would you recommend? Germany ds14-2 server or the default blank setting (to the best available Midwest Server) I assume many other factors are at play and quality is more critical, but my ping to ds28 is 96ms, and my ping to ds14-2 is around 32ms (guessing this as no response) |

Almost always: or the default blank setting (to the best available Midwest Server)
But you can try the DS14-2 server. We have also enabled Ping responses on that server. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. We have also enabled Ping responses on that server. Thank you for that. However, the ping of this server DS14-2 is not comparable with the other Denali servers located in Chicago because DS14-2 just give the users the last part of the route, between Germany and each user location. I wish we could have such low latency from Chicago to Europe as well - 63ms from DS14-2 in Germany to Portugal, comparing with the 120ms + from the servers in Chicago. |

Does the connection between Chicago and DS14-2 use a more professional/higher-priority/reliable route/equipment than I would achieve as a consumer using my direct connection to DS28? I'm thinking 120ms + 30ms will be better if that 120ms journey is pro-level, and only the 30ms to Europe uses consumer-level routing. Rather than direct to ds28 at 100ms, but using consumer-level pathways. Does it work like that? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-03-23 16:16:02

A direct connection is going to usually be better. To answer the question, yes these are going to be better higher bandwidth Internet connections because they are in data centers and not end-user Internet connections : Does the connection between Chicago and DS14-2 use a more professional/higher-priority/reliable route/equipment than I would achieve as a consumer using my direct connection to DS28?
But in the end, it probably makes no practical difference. So a direct connection would be better. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
