Hello, I am trying to replicate my Ninjatrader charts in Sierra. Because I have dyslexia the process is difficult. Are there videos that walk thru charts and data set up? I use Reversal charts like Reversal 150, Reversal 890 depending on the stock. I don,t know if my data is connected to Stocks and Futures currency? |

Trying to replicate my Ninjatrader charts. 1- How do I set the charts to a default of 24/7 like my Ninja? So that the reversal chart is able to plot Exactly like the attached Ninja chart? 2- How do I plot the footprint chart to show the number like 20,000K/0? 3- How do I highlight the dominant side? 4- I don,t know if my data is connected to real-time Stocks and Futures currency data? 5- Is the reversal in sierra plotted correctly? |

1. In order to ensure you have the 24 hours of data, you need to ensure that your Session Times are set to cover the 24 hour period. Refer to the following: Chart Session Times 2. In the Numbers Bars study there is an Input for Use Large Volume Number Formatting. Set this to Yes to get the K and M suffix on numbers greater than 10,000. Refer to the following: Numbers Bars: Use Large Volume Number Formatting 3. There are a lot of ways to do this. It depends on what you are looking for. But, refer to this setting and the option Background on Dominant Side to start with: Numbers Bars: Numbers Bars Background Types 4. You are not setup to get any data from us. 1. If you want to get data from us, then we need to first know what trading service are you using with Tradestation? Do they have you setup to use CQG? 2. As far as we can tell your Reversal Bars are setup properly. Just keep in mind that you have a 150 reversal with a 0 Minimum Length. That Minimum Length could be the reason for differences you are seeing. 3. Refer to the following: Numbers Bars: Drawing Open to Close Boxes on Side of Numbers Bar 4. Hard to say. First, refer to what we state in #2 above. Second, the data can be different depending on the vendors, so you may not be able to get them to be 100% the same, nor should you look for that. Just make sure that you have the settings the way you want them to be to create the bars that you want. I have CQG data for futures linked to Sierra charts. I need data for stocks added to my account, can I use Sierra Chart with multiple trading accounts (CQG plus Sierra Data) within a single copy of Sierra Chart? |

You have us a bit confused, as you first stated that "I get free data from TradeStation for Stocks/options and futures currency.", but then you are asking "I need data for stocks added to my account". So, we will just say that you can get the stock data from us. Just be aware that it does not include the Level 2 Market Depth data. To get the stock data you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the U.S. Equities exchange. Refer to the Setup Instructions on this page: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Setup Instructions can I use Sierra Chart with multiple trading accounts (CQG plus Sierra Data) within a single copy of Sierra Chart?
If you are asking if you can be connected to CQG and getting your Futures data from them as well as get your Stock data from us, then the answer is yes. We are setup to allow you do this kind of setup. If you are asking if you can connect to CQG and then change to a different broker (like Interactive Brokers) from a single installation of Sierra Chart, then you can do this, but we do not recommend it. Rather, we recommend installing Sierra Chart twice and having one copy connect to one broker and the other connect to the other broker. This way you are not losing data and having issues with your charts and trades as you are working on one instead of the other. 1- I have real-time data for FTSE but I get this message when I try downloading data. Amp side they don't know why that is happening and for One week have not had any data for the FTSE. 2. I want the right side margin to be very small and used the lock fill space but still have a big gap on the right? 3. I need data for stock and should be able to be plotted on a Footprint/Number bar chart, which is the right stock data I need to get? 4. I will like to use just One copy of sierra and connect both to CQG futures data and Sierra data at the same time. |

1. When you receive that kind of message, it means that CQG is telling you that you are not authorized to get that data. Keep in mind that you are wanting data from the LIFFE (London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange) for the symbol you are showing. Make sure you have that exchange activated and not the actual FTSE itself. 2. You may be better off not using the Lock Fill Space at all. That will give you the smallest space on the right. But otherwise, just make sure you have the spacing set as you want when you do the Lock Fill Space. And keep in mind that it will change as you change bar spacing. Refer to the information here: Working With Charts: Right Side Fill Space 3. You should really just use the stock data from us that is from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. This way it will integrate with CQG without any issues. 4. Then just setup the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the U.S. Equities exchange when you get to that step. With regards to AMZN, it depends on what time of day it was. If that was during a trading halt, then that is why and it would correct when the trading started again. If, that is not the case, then it implies that you are having an issue with the connection to the data feed at that time. If you are continuing to see this, then we would need to see your Message Log: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed". Do you have a feature on your charts of showing resting limit orders on the footprint charts like the bookmap charts? If not that is an upgrade that will help traders and you will notice how it pinpoints the top and bottom of the range. |
