Hi. I currently have a CQG Connection through my broker, Tradovate. I just set my account to pay $43 for Sierra and the Denali Feed. I've spent several minutes trying to figure out how to switch the data from cqg to Denali and have had no luck.

This is just for charting, not trading.

Please advise.

Thanks!

You have not finished the setup for the Denali Exchange Data Feed. If you work through the instructions, all the information you need is in there. Follow through the instructions starting here:

Ok, I went through and acitvated but then it kept on saying to acitate/renew. I clicked on that button a few times and it charged my 3 times for the denali set up. So confusing! Sorry. Should I expect some credits back?

Thanks and sorry for the hassle

We see that you selected the "Update and Renew Now" button for the Available Services. You did not need to do that, you should have selected the "Update/Set" button instead.

The difference between them is that the "Update/Set" just changes the package and adjusts the End Date for your Usage Time based on the difference in the pricing for the package. "Update and Renew Now" actually updates the selection and adds an additional period to your Usage Time.

Hence, you now have Usage Time through August 9, 2021. We can refund you the extra months, if you like, or you can just leave it and you do not need to think about adding credits or renewing until August. It's your decision.

Ok yeah, lets just keep it good through August. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep getting charged so that's perfect.

Thank you!

I would like to trade the CME basket. If I want to use SC with Denali feed for charting and Tradovate for order entry, do I need to pay the CME fees twice?

Yes, you would pay Tradovate for order entry and SC for charting with the Denali feed

You should not need to pay twice for the CME Data Fees. You would need to tell Tradovate to not charge you for the data from CQG.

John- How would they know I'm paying the fees through SC?

It does not matter. It is not about paying the fees to one place or another. It is about where you are getting the data from and paying for it through that source.

Since you would be getting the data from us, you would need to tell your broker to not charge you for the CQG data, and then you will not get any data from CQG. You would just get your data from us.

I don't need data to enter trades on Tradovate?

John is correct if you plan on trading on Sierra's platform. I guess it depends on if you're entering trades on the Tradovate platform or Sierra. I use jigsaw and sometimes Tradovate and I've always had to pay for 2 data feeds. One for charting on Sierra and one for execution. I just switched to Denali for better tick data for Footprints. If you enter trades on Sierra then you shouldn't have to pay 2 fees.

I believe that Tradovate only allows CQG data though and CQG makes you pay for 2 data feeds if using Sierra for charting only

After you sign the CME agreements and activate the CME exchange data how long does it take to see Real Time Pricing? Does it take a certain amount of time for Sierra to confirm my Tradovate/Dorman relationshipo as I'm still seeing delayed prices for ES.

I have just activated the denali feed but after following the instructions, I am still not able to see the [M] symbol suggesting I am still using IB data feed. Can you help point me to what i am not doing correctly?

User249488:

You have signed up for the Non-Professional CME exchanges, which means that you need to connect to your live, funded futures trading account at the beginning of each month to qualify for the lower-priced exchange fees. You have not connected to your trading account yet this month. Refer to the following:

Everything looks good on your account. If you are still not seeing the [M], then the most likely cause is that your setting for File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to No. Change this to Yes and then select File >> Disconnect followed by File >> Connect to Data Feed.

If you continue to not have the [M] after you do the above, then follow these instructions to get us your Message Log:
Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Reconnect to the data feed:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

After about 30 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

Thanks John. I don't see Tradovate the Current Selected Service list. Should I be looking at a different provider since my market data is directly through tradovate and trading is cleared through Dorman?

Thanks John, Allow Support for Sierra Chart has already been set to 'Yes'. I have sent my message log for analysis and appreciate your advice.

You would need to dig one level further and see what service Dorman is using (CQG, Rithmic, TT). If it is one of these then we you may be able to use that account.

Otherwise, in order to get the Denali Exchange Data you feed, you would need to have an account with another broker to at least qualify for the non-professional exchange fees. Or you could pay the professional rates.

Weijie Eng:

All of the symbols you have loaded are Stocks. The Denali Exchange Data Feed only has data for the CME Group and EUREX, which are futures.

Therefore, you are not getting the data for the Stocks from us, that data is coming from Interactive Brokers.

If you want to get data for U.S. Stocks from us, then you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the U.S. Equities exchange. You will find the Setup Instructions for this here:
