Thanks so much! I managed to plot these lines, wonderful!
however is there a way to cut the lines short just to show at around the last few bars.
Now they go all the way back to the left of the chart and makes my chart very crowded with too manliness
across it.

thanks!

I like to set up an Alert (a sound alert)when price moves near the threshold area of that ATR line, say within threshold of 4, then the sound alert will be trigged, like to show these threshold area in shaded colour too above and below the ATR line too.
Pls advise how can I do that?
Thanks so much

is there a way to cut the lines short just to show at around the last few bars.
Also be aware of the following draw style that is similar to what you ask:
Chart Studies: Line Extend To Edge (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_LINE_EXTEND_TO_EDGE)

I like to set up an Alert (a sound alert)when price moves near the threshold area of that ATR line
Refer to the following for Alerts:
Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning

like to show these threshold area in shaded colour too above and below the ATR line too.
We are not sure if you are asking to color this when the alert happens, or at all times.

If you want to color based on the alert, then you would want to use the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study. Refer to the following:
Color Bar Based on Alert Condition

If you are wanting to create a filled area between two lines, then refer to the following and the section after it:
Chart Studies: Filling the Area Between Two Study Subgraphs within Same Study

see attached screenshot can explain better what I like to do

I like to create zones (shaded area in the chart pointed by green arrows) above and below the ATR lines,
then set sound alerts, so that once prices reach these zones (eg at the red circles), a sound alert will be triggered, so that I will be alerted to look at price action

pls advise how I can achieve this?

thanks so much

Use the Bands/Envelope study:
- Set the Based On to the study for the ATR lines.
- Set the Input Value to its subgraph
- Set the Draw Styles to the Transparent Top/Transparent Bottom pair.

For alerts, use a formula like this on the Alerts tab of any study:
=OR(AND(H[-1]<ID5.SG2[-1],H>ID5.SG2),AND(L[-1]>ID5.SG1[-1],L<ID5.SG2))
where the Bands/Envelope study is ID5.

If you want to also color the bars at the alerts, put the formula on the Alerts tab of an instance of the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study.

Thanks for all the help. I have been setting alert for Moving averages, and want to be alerted when the eg 13 ema is above 34 ema , so I input alert condition as IDx.SG1>IDx.SG2, ID being the moving average study , SG1 being 13, and SG2 being 34

However the alert sound trigger keeps repeating , while the condition remains true... so quite noisy all the time. I like to set the alert to sound only once the condition set is true the first instance , and only for that once, and not repeating while the condition remains true.
Where can I set this criteria ?

Thanks!

In general, an alert only goes off when it goes from False to True. If it remains true, it does not continue to go off.

Make sure you have the following option not enabled:
Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Reset Alert Condition On New Bar

And also look at the other Alert Options in that section to make sure they are set how you want them to be.

And then check your Alert Number to make sure you have not set it to repeat:
General Settings Window: Playing Alert Sound Multiple Times

I like to set the line of RSI-TS study to be red once below the 50 line. See chart example.
I tried the auto colour (subgraphs) however it is based on +/- of a zero line.
Whereas I like to set it based on the 50 line.

Pls advise me how can set this auto colour based on the 50 line instead?
Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks so much for your help. Is there a way to create a Dashboard which can scan and show the alerts conditions I have set under different symbols so I can see them all at a glance

There is not. It has been requested previously, but it is not something we have gotten to.

You can always see the results of alerts that have gone "off" by looking at the Alerts Log.

Hi !

I like to set colour background switch for MACD crossing the zero line , however I only want the colour to flip when the next bar after the MACD crosses the zero line, for eg if it is a 5 min chart, and MACD line crosses pass the zero line, I want the colour background to flip only if the second 5 min bar close following the crossing and the MACD line is still above the zero line

I know the condition to set for the normal MACD cross colour background switch, What do I need to modify to be able to set for the next bar close to be the trigger for the colour switch?

Thanks

Refer to this section on referencing bars other than the current bar:
Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Referencing Data Other Than on the Last Bar/Column In the Chart

So you would need to use the AND function to check both bars status.

You would use the Period OHLC - Variable Period study to get the data you want. This study allows you to reference one period back, so you can see the previous period on the current bars. Refer to the information here:
Previous/Period OHLC-Variable Period

If you need to use a different chart to get the Period OHLC - Variable Period information, then you would use the Study/Price Overlay to then overlay that information into the chart you want.
Study/Price Overlay Study

Hi I would like to have the chart values/pointer (tools) to appear at the same time in all charts under the same symbols, eg ES 7000 ticks and my ES one hour chart, pls advise how can I link these together?

At the moment I can have the chart value/pointer appearing one one chart only. They are not linked.

Thanks.

Hi there,

is there a tool where I can count the no of bars of e.g a Swing High to Swing Low , and can I use the Chart calculator to measure the time of certain periods on the charts? the numbers seem funny. Is there another tool specially for measuring time and time projection?

Thanks so much

Hi there

I would like to backtest last year s futures indexes price data, eg RTY Russell 2000 from August 2020, however the choices shown only goes back to June 2021 contract.

Pls advise how I can retrieve the historical data for last year, so I can set the replay mode to play from there.

Also how far back I can go to for these historical data.

Thanks!
