Hardware ID for CTS in live simulation Mode

Hello Support,

I subscribed a Datafeed demo with CTS. They ask me a Hardware ID to grant me a live DataFeed otherwise they give me a 10 minutes delay Feed. Can you please tell me where can I find this ID related with SC in my computer ?

Thank you for your help.

-------------------------------
'from CTS : in order for us to provide real-time data to Sierra Chart users they are required to send us a hardware id. They no longer send that to us, so we can only provide delayed data in the simulated environment only for Sierra Chart.'

Yes that is true due to changes we have made in Sierra Chart to make the code base portable. There is no way to find the hardware ID.

We recommend using the Denali Exchange Data Feed for real-time data and connecting to your CTS account once a month:

Hello SC,

As I still use SC_v1915 32bits and it's not a recent version (I stil have very strong slowdown when migrating to SC_v2021 64 bits) ; is it compatible, working enough with Denali Exchange even if it's not optimized ? If so It will be my first choice.

We can look at this "slow down" and see what the problem is if you provide us your Chartbook following these instructions here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile

If you want to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed, here are instructions:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges*

You will just need to connect once a month to CTS to authorize the CME data.

Hello Support,

First of all, Happy New Year :-)

And following my problem of slowdown, did you get my chartbook I attached tuesday ? If so , please what are the possible issues you encountered ? My Chartbook is indeed heavy and I tried to cleanup before sending to you.

I'm eager to hear from your expertise guys, this is utmost important to me as I am stucked to v1915 32 bit till now and it's no more operative with these hidden defaults with recent versions ; I'm excited to upgrade asap to SC Prerelease version and start year 2020 in optimal conditions for my trading activity.

Waiting to hear you, Thank you so much for your commitment.

This Chartbook certainly does cause high CPU usage. It will take us some time to see what we can do to improve performance.

For the time being we recommend doing the following:

Run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode to see if that helps:
Sierra Chart - Software Login Instructions: Using Safe Mode

Increase the Chart Update Interval to 1000 or 1500:
General Settings Window: Chart Update Interval (Global Settings >> General Settings >> General >> Update Intervals)

Run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode to see if that helps:

Sorry , no improvment, not helping

Increase the Chart Update Interval to 1000 or 1500:

Not helping either, still freezing

In the two cases simultaneously, no improvment at all, this is really disappointing and unfortunatly the clock is ticking for my trading activity.

We are looking at this but this is going to take some time. It is not anything that we can do quickly and it is doubtful we can improve performance with your configuration, to the way it was before. At this point we do not know why there is a difference. But we think there is a good chance we could make enough of an improvement assuming it is not related to your hardware. You may have to update your computer hardware.

Thank you Support,

"But we think there is a good chance we could make enough of an improvement assuming it is not related to your hardware" Please do your best ; It's crucial for my activity.
Regarding the Hardware I have a Core I7 with 8 GB memory. Changing my computer is not possible for the moment, sorry , if I can I shall do it later.

Datafeed with Rithmic seems to be compatible with SC_v1915 32 bits I use. By necessity, I'm in process to open an account with AMP in order to Use SierraChart v1915 32bit with Rithmic ; that's the only way to avoid for the moment the blocking of my activity.

Just one last question Guys : is Denali compatible, still working with SC_v1915 32 bits ? If so, it could be my other possible option .

Instead of using Rithmic, please consider using this service:
Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

Your hardware seems fine to us. An I7 is acceptable.

The Denali Exchange Data Feed cannot be used with version 1915. And also the TT based order routing service requires a newer version as well.

Thanks for the answer Support but finally which Data feed is compatible with my SC_v1915 32 bit other than Rithmic ?

Any other SC UP version doesn't work for me without freezing or strong slowdown. can you have a deeper look on my Chartbook please ? Its optimization shall surely solve all my problems. I'm blocked as if I'm in a loop of problems of compatibility that put me in a halt in my work.

Hello Support,

Can we have a test with Denali exchange ? I am a non professional and have a funded account with TRANSACT ; perhaps it could work with my SC_v1915 32 bits, who knows ? I tell that because I see that the service SC Futures Order Routing/Data is available in SC_v1915.

Can we have a try together please ?

No you cannot use the Denali data feed with version 1915. Also one of your charts has more than 1000 studies on it. There is one performance improvement which we know is going to help. We should be able to get this done in a few days.

We are going to release version 2034 today with one performance improvement which should make a noticeable difference. Other potential performance improvements are going to take a still about two weeks. It is unknown whether we can do any better.

Yes us as well because you have one chart that has over 1000 studies and the other charts also have a large amount of studies. When using the color bar based on alert condition, the lookup of a referenced study is not very efficient. This is what we have solved in 2034.

This must be a user contributed study. We see one called "FibBands". Is this what you are looking for?

Yes Support,

All FibBands don't display anymore in my charts with v2034. Until v2031 it displays correctly.

We will add this study into the main list of studies. We also see a performance improvement we can make to it. And we did discover another performance improvement we can make and we will do. So progress is being made.

Hello SC,

I downloaded v2035 and checked : the FibBands are still not displaying ; to inquire further I didn't see either the replacement of this 'contributed' study in the main list as you intended. Can you tell me please if there are improvements since your last message as I am stuck for the moment with SC_v1915 32bit ? This is not ideal but to stay with this version is the only way for me to keep an acceptable tradable performance of my chartbook, I hope your progress will be strong and sustained so that we encounter very soon a breakthrough. Thank you again Guys for your commitment ! Waiting to hear you soon....

The study is now called Fibonacci Bands and is in the main list of Sierra Chart studies in version 2035. We have also released version 2036. Update to prerelease 2036.

I tried the SC Prerelease Version friday evening before the close of the markets. Still freezing and big slowdown ; can you please test with my chartbook previously attached if there are improvements at your side. Tommorow morning at the opening of the markets starting a new month and still stuck with v1915 32 bits to stay operational ; some ideas please ? Sorry to insist but no other solutions than using SC_v1915 : We are together really embarrassed with this situation
