I am using version 1061 and TT Fix.

The chart is using symbol ZB-201403-CME and works fine but when I open the Trading DOM for that symbol, it shows the prices in decimal format and not in 1/32 format as it should be. Of course, if I try to place an order in the trading DOM the market rejects it as the price does not exist (in decimal).

If I open the Trading DOM for the symbol ZB-201403-CBOT (instead of ZB-201403-CME) it seems to work fine as it accepts new orders and cancellations but I cannot open any chart for ZB-201403-CBOT (as it should be according to the changes you have done for CBOT/CME traslation) so I am not able to see those orders in the chart.

To what clearing companies FIX adapter are you connecting to?

Use the CBOT symbols. You may need to uncheck Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols. If you change this option you need to reconnect to the data feed with the commands on the File menu.

If do not get any chart data, then post a copy of the Message Log, by following these steps:

I use Velocity/ILQ.

It worked fine until today (maybe it started to work wrong Friday last week when I upgraded the SW version but I did not notice it). On Thursday it worked fine.

I have just done what you suggest in the previous post and I get the ZB-201303-CBOT but the data does not refresh. To get the current price I have disconnect and connect again.

I have been working with ZB-XXXXXX-CME up to now with no problems at all and I think that that is the best way to continue working. Something has changed in the new versions of SC that make this happen, I think.

In this case you must enable Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols. If you change this option then select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed.

Open a chart for ZB-201303-CBOT( you cannot use the CME exchange in the symbol any longer). If it does not update post the Message Log, by following these steps:

"Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols" is ON. I have only turned it OFF for the test you requested.

When it is ON everything works fine in the chart but the Trading DOM uses decimal system to show the prices (it must be ticks of 1/32s) and orders cannot be entered in the DOM.

On the Trading DOM, go to Chart >> Chart Settings. Reselect the Symbol using the Find button and make sure you choose the one that ends with CBOT . After this press the Apply Global Symbol Settings button.

If I do that, the Trading DOM (ZB-XXXXXX-CBOT) works OK but it does not match with the Chart (ZB-XXXXXX-CME) so the orders entered/modified/deleted in the Chart are not reflected in the DOM and vice versa the orders entered/modified/deleted in the DOM are not reflected in the chart.

We are doing our best to help you, but we need you to follow our instructions.

We asked you to open a chart for ZB-201303-CBOT and if there is a problem provide the Message Log. You cannot use the CME extension for the ZB symbols any longer.

You need to go through all of your charts and all of your Trade DOM windows for all of the CBOT markets and change all of them to use the CBOT exchange. They must all use the CBOT Exchange. Otherwise, you can have conflicts and is most likely the problem. After this you will need to reconnect to the data feed with File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect To Data Feed.

This is what I do:

- I disable: "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols"
- I Disconnect and Connect again after 5 seconds
- I open a chart for ZB-201403-CBOT
* The chart shows the data only from 9 am (CET) to the time I opened it and then it is frozen. If I
disconnect and connect again then the data is refreshed in the Chart but it becomes frozen again.
- I open a Trading DOM for ZB-201403-CBOT and I get a message in the DOM "Symbol is Unknown. Click for symbol information. I click there and I am redirected to "Supported Data and Trade Services" page in Sierrachart.com

These are the log messages:

From post #4:
In this case you must enable Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols. If you change this option then select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed.

And make sure for the ZB symbol you use the CBOT exchange. If you still have difficulty we will have to use remote assistance to help with this. There should not be any problem with this.

I have to use ZB-XXXXXX-CME in the chart. ZB-XXXXXX-CBOT does not work. I do not see any difference if I enable/disable "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols"

My only problem is that the Trading DOM for ZB-XXXXXX-CME shows the prices in decimal. If it showed the prices in 1/32s, as it has done until today, that would be perfect. That Trading DOM (for ZB) worked perfectly for 12 months but today it changed to decimal and you cannot use it to enter/modify orders. I can only modify orders in the chart.

Probably I do not express myself clearly. I do not want to continue with this. I have work with ZB-XXXXXX-CME and in case the Trading DOM for that symbol is still in decimal system I will not use it for this symbol.

This is what we are trying to help you with. And we need your Message Log. It most definitely should be working And if it does not work, we will make it work for you. We are more than capable of getting this working for you. Your dealing directly with the programmers here. Please provide us the Message Log so we can determine why it is not working for you. Here are the instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=PostingInformation.php#log

If you do not want to continue with this, then OK, but we have done our best. Is important for us, to determine what the problem is and get this working for you.We did not realize this would be so much trouble.

We just did a test right now on the TT development server, using the CBOT Symbol and it works fine:
http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1386624227493.png

The incorrect pricing at the end of the chart is due to the exchange simulation server which has different pricing. But otherwise, the chart is updating in real-time.

One solution to the problem is to go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Locate the ZB symbol in the list and change the exchange at the end of the symbol to CME. Press OK.

After this, probably the easiest thing to do is to reopen new charts and Trade DOMs to get the proper symbol settings.

Sorry for not replying earlier but I disconnected yesterday at 22:00 (CET) and didn't see the messages.

I have done what you suggest in the last message: "One solution to the problem is to go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Locate the ZB symbol in the list and change the exchange at the end of the symbol to CME. Press OK." and now it works fine!.

It was that easy. I think we made the problem more complicated than it really was. I think that when I performed the "Full Reset" in "Global Symbol Settings", as you suggested in the Technical Note for the latest release, that was changed and this was the source of the problem.

Thanks for your support.

Best regards

OK, this is good everything is working properly for you now. However, there should not have been a problem using the CBOT symbol because the CBOT is translated to CME when making the market data request and also when sending orders. We do not have any other reports of a problem with this. And it has been thoroughly tested.

We did not suggest changing the exchange in the symbol settings to CME earlier because it is nonstandard way of solving the problem and we want to have users follow through a consistent method.

Now I remember that, some months ago, Velocity asked their customers using Sierra to stop using the symbols ended by -CBOT and change them for new ones ended by -CME. After that notice it was not possible to trade with symbold ended by -CBOT. I do not know if that has something to do with the fact that -CBOT symbols don't work for me.

This is true. But the CBOT does get translated in the latest Sierra Chart version to CME when use CME Gateway for CBOT Symbols is enabled.
