TransAct Billing Market Data Fees

I subscribe to Sierra data and clear trades via TransAct. Provided I did not access the account on the TransAct AT platform they did not bill me the market data fees (Eurex & CME).
This month they billed me 21Euro & 18$. I called them and was informed that I am currently accessing their data server (even though I have not opened the AT platform for many months) and the charges are automatically passed to them from the exchanges.
Clearly these charges will not break the bank. The issue is that I have not had to pay them in previous months. All the futures symbols chart with the suffix (M) indicating the data is coming from Sierra.
Currently on SCv1659, TransAct Trading is set as Service in Trade Service Settings, as has been the case for some years.
TransAct Customer Support suggested I may be now picking up the charge because something has been changed within one of the recent Sierra updates.
Please advise

Perhaps it has to do with a request for security definition data for each symbol. Although this is nothing new. And whether that would cause a problem or not we really do not know from our side.

There may have also been a one-off case, where they are was market data request to TransAct for reasons which are not clear at this time.

Does not seem to be a one-off. Called TransAct before placing any orders today, Sierra was running and they confirmed I was drawing data from their server.

The only data request to TransAct are for ICE and Index symbols. You can tell just by looking for lines like these:

TransAct Trading | Starting real-time market data updates for: Date Time. ID: 89 | 2017-12-06 20:01:07
TransAct Trading | Requesting security definition data for: Date Time. ID: 89 | 2017-12-06 20:01:07

You can easily validate this yourself.

The problem with these particular lines is they do not show a symbol. Apparently there is some chart or possibly Symbol Alert you have where the symbol has no visible characters in it.

But this would not cause any problem.

At this point we have to let this go. We cannot commit further time to this.

We think we know what the problem could be. It could be that the TransAct order API subscribes to the symbol when there is a position.

I was not billed by TransAct for the fees in October or November but did trade Eurex & CME with them in those months. I have made no change to any settings that would affect this so it appears something has changed either at TransAct or Sierra.

Regarding post #6 they are not billing me for ICE or Index symbols. I have some charts loading historical (Daily) data with these symbols and thought that data was coming from Sierra.
Will now go through the Message log and delete those charts which are using historical data from TransAct to see how that affects the situation.

You definitely have the ability to see what is happening with the interaction of Sierra Chart and TransAct in the Window >> Message Log. What else could be happening in the background and TransAct side we do not know.
