We will be releasing enhancements to this functionality:
Order Allocation to Trade Accounts

Enhancements:

Can specify a quantity multiplier for the additional accounts an order is allocated to. This is entered as a floating-point number and rounded to the nearest integer after the multiplier is applied. A quantity of less than 1 is rounded up to 1.

When modifying or canceling the original order which was allocated to other accounts, those orders allocated other accounts will also be modified and canceled in the identical way. When there are changes to the order quantity, the quantity multiplier will be applied.

One exception to this is when the parent order fills, the Attached Orders for the original order will not cause the Attached Orders for the identical orders allocated to other accounts, to be modified in the same way since that will happen automatically with their own parent order.

The functionality described here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?PostID=298446#P298446 (Post # 76)

has been released in the latest prerelease 2367. However, the functionality to perform modifications and order cancellations, For the allocated accounts, needs further review and likely there will be some additional changes. It may not work completely perfect in this release under all circumstances.

We would be happy for our users to look over this thread, and tell us, we are wrong and the user is right:
https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=71907#P299345

Although there probably is insufficient information to come to that conclusion.

The user is making inconsistent requests, and is alleging there is a problem with the average price calculation methods but there simply could not be. Unless all of the order fills that make up the position are not accessible because they are not loaded into the chart based upon the relevant settings.

This is a very good example, of a new user believing they are knowledgeable about a particular issue and consistently alleging there is a problem when there is not, and is not doing proper analysis.

If we are wrong, ok, but we need to understand that but we certainly cannot see it at this point in time.

We are not going to respond to this post directly regarding the new Chart Settings window in the latest releases:
https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=72185

However we will say:

We further will be organizing the various settings in the new Chart Settings window. There will be some new tabs, and additional subcategories. It just takes time to figure this all out.

This new settings window can be interacted with at the same time you interact with the chart. So you can make changes, and then go right back to the chart, and still keep the Chart Settings window open.

Each chart has its own Chart Settings window. Multiple ones can be open at the same time.

And you can also customize the behavior of these new Settings Windows:
Settings Windows Interface: Changing User Interface Behavior

And the Colors and Font are fully customizable:
Settings Windows Interface: Colors and Font Settings

These windows are resizable including the column widths.

These windows are extremely fast. Flicker free, and use next to no Windows resources unlike the heavy resource utilization of these unstable Microsoft Dialog windows which the previous Chart Settings window used.

All of the above is a massive and extraordinary improvement over what existed previously. We do not think there is any type of settings type interface, as customizable as what we produced.

Regarding what is described, in post #76 for Order Allocation to Trade Accounts, these enhancements are now properly implemented and functional in version 2371. This functionality should not be used in any version prior to 2371.

We are putting out version 2371 now.

Effective with version 2364 and higher, you are not able to open Chartbooks save more than about two years ago. They are not compatible.

This change was made, in order to clean up older code, which dates back to about 20 years ago. We wanted to remove this code in order order to have not any confusion as we are adding support for real-time Chartbook sharing.

Therefore, if you want to open a Chartbook, saved more than two years ago in a version at or after 2364, means that you first need to roll back to version 2363 following these instructions:

Software Download: Full Control Rollback Procedure

Save the Chartbook in version 2363. And then update to the latest version of Sierra Chart with Help >> Download Current Version. You can then open the Chartbook in newer versions.

We prepared this documentation here regarding the new Chart Settings window:
Chart Settings: New Chart Settings Window

We will also be adding additional settings, like the ones explained here regarding the user interface behavior:
Settings Windows Interface: Changing User Interface Behavior

For example, if you left click on a (button) in the new Settings Windows, if that line for the button was not currently selected, there will be an option to have the button operation performed without having to left click again. These are the fine details that will be controllable.

The background color of a button will also be controllable. And by default will be gray. This will make the buttons obvious in appearance.

There will be additional settings in Global Settings >> General Settings >> Settings Windows, to support a single left click operation on a settings line, that uses a list box or edit control, to immediately initiate the opening of the list box or edit operation.

So we will achieve, easy user interface behavior which is similar to or exactly the same as what you would have in the prior dialogs but with much higher performance and stability.

Update 2022-04-06: The above items have now been completed in version 2378.

In the latest prerelease, 2378, go to Global Settings >> General Settings >> Settings Windows. There are various options to enable single click options for different types of items in the new Settings Windows when the line is not selected. This allows for behavior identical to the previous dialogs.

This is all very customizable.

Additionally, Settings Windows buttons now have a gray background and black text by default. So they have a familiar color scheme to an operating system type of button. You can control these colors through Global Settings >> Graphics Settings. Adjust the color settings that begin with Settings Windows:.

Prerelease version 2418 resolves a deadlock issue which potentially can occur when replaying a chart that uses the Market Depth Historical Graph, and at the same time Sierra Chart is connected to the data feed and also writing market depth data.

We posted in this thread about an issue with the Binance data feed.

Upon further investigation, there was an unknown change made by one of our programmers which was the cause of the recent issues and we are reverting that change. We apologize for this.

The next release of Sierra Chart has a complete reimplementation of how fonts are managed.

We noticed about two times that the sizes of fonts, outside of a chart window, had changed and they had become smaller. We were not sure if this was an operating system problem or problem with the internal font manager. All of this has been redeveloped and if it was an issue in Sierra Chart, it will not happen again with all of the changes.

We are also working on our exchange functionality that we have been talking about a lot over the years.

We are working on the new US equities consolidated tape data feed.

We are working on order routing functionality. Support for subaccounts and the ability for users to set a daily loss limit.

Real-time Chartbook sharing and chat functionality is also being developed.

These are not things that we are spending full time on, but they are just some of the things that are gradually being worked on.

In addition to all of this, there are new features added throughout the program in response to Support Board requests and reported issues are resolved.

The old dialog windows continue to be replaced. We are working on replacing the older Drawing Tool Configuration/Properties windows.

For anyone who wants the CBOE Volatility Index $VIX there are three choices for this:

1. The actual CBOE volatility index available through the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Cost: 25 USD month for the data feed plus the CBOE indices exchange fee.

2. The CFE futures volatility index available with the Denali Data Feed.

Cost: 3USD/month for the exchange fee. You will already have access to the Denali Data Feed on Service Packages: 10, 11 or 12. You will just need to activate the CFE Futures exchange.

https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1665164370904.png
