Recently whenever i switch from SIM Trading to Live Trading or open a new chart book i get the attached message and/or my platform freezes

Error message i get is Waiting to Download Historic Data, after a while i get message Historic Download Complete, To re-download use Edit > > Delete All Data and Download.

This keeps repeating itself and only sometime occurs when i switch from SIM trading to Live trading or open another Chartbook

It makes sense for this message to appear when you open a Chartbook, as it is most likely going to need to get any missing data for the symbols in that Chartbook. Also, depending on how much data needs to be updated, it can take some time to get the data.

What exactly do you mean by it keeps "repeating" itself? Once the download is complete, then you should be getting the live data.

But, it should not be doing this when switching between Simulated and Live trading. How are you making this switch?

Also, get us a copy of your Message Log when you have one of these issues (assuming the system does not "lock up") by following these instructions:

This message crops up anytime, today it happened after an entire day of trading right at the end around 3:30PM EST on an already opened chartbook (for the entire day) i got this message.

I make the switch from Simulation to Live by going to Trade tab on the chart window and selecting Trade Simulation On (so as to switch of trade simulation)

Currently i restarted the platform but i had the issue today between 3:30 PM EST and 4:00PM EST (can i send you the log from today?)

The freezing is going to be caused by a study causing Sierra Chart to freeze for an extended time while it is doing processing. You need to look at the study calculation times of studies to see which one is causing the problem. Refer to:
Chart Studies: Studies To Graph

We will also check the Message Log. This is what we see in the log:
CQG WebSocket | Timeout waiting for pong message from server. | 2021-07-30 10:58:46.803
There are a lot of these, so this is due to a network connectivity issue. Or perhaps it is happening, if Sierra Chart were frozen for an extended time but that would have to be for over a minute. Although it would seem unlikely to be occurring for that reason.

We also see:

I would assume the freezing might occur when the charts/studies in the chartbook are loading for the first time. This freezing is happening after the charts/studies in the chartbook have been loaded and running for a while.

Sierra chart does hang up a lot lately, have been using this setup for a while and never faced any issues.

The problem would be caused by a study taking a long time to calculate. That would be the only reasonable possibility. By looking at the full calculation time, you can then determine which one or which multiple ones there are doing this.

Another thing you will need to do is to use a sub instance and put the charts that use a lot of CPU time on a sub instance:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance
