Hello,

I have followed SC's recommendation and signed up for the Denali data feed plus TT execution. I am disappointed with the quality of the reports I'm able to extract from your system (Trade Account Data page) and could not find support material anywhere, thus this ticket. Issues as follows:
1) reports generated by SC software do not take into consideration the real commissions incurred but only the amounts input by the user
2) account balances are not real time and lag quite a bit
3) impossible to download custom reports
4) trade execution listings do not include commissions.
5) account balance history does not work

How to correct these issues?

For faster account balance updates set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Setting >> Primary Server to Server 1 or Server 4. And reconnect to the data feed after.

thank you, BUT connecting to different servers didn't yield any change on report content, thus, items #1 and #4 remain open: do you have answers/solutions?

No we definitely cannot help with 1 and 4.

All we can say, is that we expect to get this out probably in the second quarter of next year. We should be able to get it out sooner, but it will not be open to all users.

SC markets its ability to check balances and manage trades on its web interface (Trade Account Data and Order Entry page). Note that I am not referring to the ability of the SC sw to check trades and balances.

What is your explanation to the fact that account balances are unchanged after various trades during the day?

What are your plans to fix a functionality that is being promised but not delivered?

This is really up to TT to fix.

What we are working on though is our own direct CME connectivity, which does not involve TT, which has its own account balances and we will do our best to get that out as soon as possible.

Looking forward to this development. Real-time account balances is pretty essential.

While working over the last month setting up a direct paid SC account, Denali Feed, SC Order routing I find it perplexing that you all would develop your routing service through TT and it doesn't provide real-time account balances...

This is a limitation of TT. Not Sierra Chart.

There is an alternative though. You can monitor your profit/loss through these tabs:

Another feature we could add is where you can enter the starting balance and then Sierra Chart can calculate the balance, based upon the net profit/loss for the trading day.

Another problem to be aware with balances with our own direct order routing, is that our systems are not going to know what the exact balance actually truly is in the account. It can get out of sync with it unless we provide an interface for a clearing firm to update it, but they may not do that.

What about a 'virtual balance' column available in any of those tabs you linked to or in the Account Balance window? It doesn't have to be exact but it could be very, very close and that is infinitely better than getting updates every 30 minutes, not at all, or having to reconnect to refresh it.

Thinking more through the issue and your documentation below, what about 'virtual' fields for all these values that are not supported with your SC routing service? The real values reported by TT can be updated and matched against the Sierra Chart 'virtual' number every min or every hour, doesn't really matter. What does matter is user access to 'fairly' accurate data real-time. If it's off a few cents/dollars NBD but not getting updates of Account Value, PnL, etc every 5, 30,or 60 min or not at all, that's deadly accounts could be off 10's of thousands or worse. My experience is > 30 min to not at all & having to refresh.

Upon connection SC logs all the Open Positions, Account Values, Daily PnL etc in 'virtual' fields, updates in real-time locally (it's virtual, very close but users understand not 100%) when real-data does come in, fields update.

Maybe even better --> If there is a data load issue (as mentioned below in your docs "# of users currently trading and requesting account balance data") use the 'virtual' data (stored locally & calculated real-time) and change the broker data request string of fields listed below to every 30 min. This gives users essentially real-time 'virtual' account data and reduces data request loads across the system?

Also this solution seems like it will avoid "providing an interface for a clearing firm to update it" IMO the less you have to rely on someone doing anything the better...

Additionally, the account balance fields do not update immediately. There can be a delay anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minutes depending upon whether there has been order activity or not on the Trade Account, and the number of users currently trading. This affects the frequency of Account Balance data requests to the TT system for a particular Trade Account.

It has no account balance issues whatsoever and these fields are updated every 500 ms and transmitted out to users every 5 seconds. And there are no load issues. All of these horrendous issues with TT are completely gone.
