If your CPU usage is not using an entire CPU core, then the lagging issue would be an issue outside of Sierra Chart. Refer to help topic 4:

From OEC about data lagging issue:
We did experience a data issue with one of the pricing machines earlier today. This did not affect all customers, just those on affected machine.

Interesting. I wonder if that server issue also exacerbated the version 1088 issues? It was a heavy news day this morning (02.06.14) at 0830ET and had OEC Trader, Sierra Chart version 1078 and numerous other apps running as always and data in Sierra Chart vs. OEC didn't "miss a beat". Tomorrow morning at 0830ET will be a true test, ,monthly non-farm payrolls.

1)After installing new actual version 1089 (from probably 1078) Market statistick $TICK chart shows strange values. I can see correct values (bars) before installation. But after the installation the bar have always the same high = 1764. Bottom is around +/-100.
2)I have also issue with ESH4 market real time data. After SCH starts - last bar ESH4 is repeating every single bar without change. After restart I can see correct values/bars but than last bar is repeating again and again. Although I have no problem with charts YMH4 and NQH4. I have also noticed that all markets DOM values are not correct (not changing)!
Thanks for any response.

Market statistick $TICK is OK now; Charts with markets are OK,
But there are wrong values for some markets (example YMH4) in DOM. Values are somehow "frozen"

Assuming we are understanding this correctly, from what we observed, this is an OEC issue and we have reported the problem to them again.

sc team - Assuming - Market depth is still an open issue with OEC/Fix. Would you please confirm - when it gets addressed?

Thanks

The depth you post in that image, looks really incorrect. We do see a problem but not like that. We have told OEC about the issue. So far no resolution.

One temporary solution is that you can select File >> Disconnect and then File >> Connect to Data Feed to get the proper market depth.

I am still using version 1078? Any progress on "fixing" the data issues with version 1090 and OEC?

Also, even using version 1078 this morning I began receiving this error for symbols - using OEC data service in global>data/trade service settings - this occurs on all symbols.

At this point all data issues that exist when using OEC with newer Sierra Chart versions are on the OEC side. We are not able to resolve them ourselves. We have reported them to OEC. One of the most significant problems is users losing the connection to the main FIX trading server. One thing we could possibly do is maintain the price data connection if that happens, but this should not be occurring to begin with.

We do know about this. Hopefully it will be resolved today. It also relates to an OEC data issue. You should still be getting historical data because Sierra Chart will retry the connection for historical data.

May I assume this statement to mean "newer versions" includes 1078 and the issues with 1090 have not been resolved either since the toot of the problem is on the OEC side? Recall I uninstalled 1090 last week and reverted to 1078. I am very hesitant at this point to move back to 1090 unless there is a clear indication/reason to do so.

1078 uses the older connection method even if you see the name of the OEC service as Open ECry FIX/FAST in that version. So you should be fine with that version for now.

Also, if you restart Sierra Chart, the problem with the historical data requests giving some errors in the Message Log is now resolved.

Have I got a problem, or will it be automatically resolved come Sunday night when the US market reopens?

My problem is that when I load up Sierra Charts (using the OEC data feed) I see on the top right hand side of my charts that I get a yellow message saying 'waiting to reconnect...' and it doesn't reconnect. All my usual charts open up as they should, but that 'waiting to reconnect...' message combined with the logs tells me that I am not connected.

I was away on holiday until last weekend which is when I may well have uploaded version 'SC 1090' which is on my computer now. Is this non-connection problem due to my having version 1090 on my machine?

All I am concerned about is that my charts should work properly come Sunday evening's US re-opening. Can you please tell me if they will work? And if not what all should I be doing to get my system up and running again?

If I need to do anything at my end, please give me a step-by-step series of instructions as I am no computer wizard.

Thanks, David

The OEC FIX server is not available over the weekend until Sunday evening. So sometime before the market opens Sunday evening, Sierra Chart will automatically reconnect if you see Waiting to Reconnect in the status box. Or you can select File >> Connect to Data Feed before the Sunday open.

Sierra,

I am afraid the 'connect to Data Field' possibility you mentioned doesn't appear to be an option with my set-up, as that option is 'greyed out' ... that being so I hope that my charts will automatically connect (as hinted at by you in your reply) come Sunday evening onwards.

On perhaps a related issue, last week there was at least one instance when I was watching the YMH4 contract, on both my sierra monitors and my OEC Trader Platform monitor (my computer runsd multiple monitors) and I noticed that my sierra charts were at times either 'frozen' or else were running behind the OEC Trader Platform charts that I had open (on the same computer).

From memory this happened at the time of some 'fast market' price action (around the release of some economic news).

Is this freezing / lagging the market (during 'fast market' conditions) something you guys are aware of? And is it something that is being looked into by you?

Thanks, David

From documentation:
If Connect to Data Feed is disabled, this means Sierra Chart is already connected to the server or servers, or it is in the process of connecting, or it was unable to connect and it is in the process of waiting to reconnect. To cause an immediate reconnect if it is in the waiting to reconnect state, select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed.
You will get a connection Sunday evening, for sure.

Start a new Support Request on this board when this happens and we will let OEC know about it. Also, make sure you are running the latest Sierra Chart version. Update with Help >> Download Current Version.

We are aware of it and have isolated the issue to be on the OEC side. They have been advised of it. We will advise them again. However, for more information about this kind of potential problem refer to this help topic:

I use SC Real Time Data feed. Up until 30 minutes ago (Sunday 2/16, 6:35 p.m. Central), I was using SC v.1077. My positions showed correctly. But, the prices were frozen to where they were on Friday. I upgraded to v.1091 based on a notice I saw in your start-up message window.

Now the positions still show correctly, and the price data looks like it's current, (yay!) but the open position fills are showing at $0.00 and the P&L is showing $0.

Three questions:
1. What does this mean?
2. How do I fix it so that my fill prices and P&L show up with accurate values (lie they did before)
3. Why did we go to this FIX/FAST? It was stable before. What problem were you trying to fix?

OEC and version 1078
Data missing from Sunday evening, 02.16.14 2130ET until this morning 02.17.14. Shutdown SC and reloaded and tried using OEC historical, SC historical and SC historical intraday to fill in data - unable to do so.

UPDATE *

After seeing the message that SC historical intraday is no longer supported, I thought I'd download version 1093 and see if it fixed the issue. I just installed version 1093 and tried using OEC historical and SC historical - tried delete/download data using both options and no data is downloaded.

Aggravating at best :(

UPDATE *
I just noticed, neither a download using download pre-release from the help>download or the link on this website stating version 1093 (02.17.14) download version 1093. Both result in version 1092. Does a version 1093 exist?????

Tbond it appears that Sierra is incapable of helping anyone who uses OEC. This is frustrating to me. So you are seeing the OEC data updating correctly with the right prices, and Sierra with the strange gaps EX: ESH4 weekend data, correct?
