To resolve the connection problem, refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TransAct.php#AccountLogonError

If you are unable to quickly get this resolved with Transact we want you to change Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to SC Data-All Services. This way you can receive the data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed now.

Connect to the data feed with File >> Connect to Data Feed and then translate the symbols for your open Chartbooks with Edit >>Translate Symbols to Current Service:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Translate Symbols To Current Service

Transact not connecting in one of computers. Solving issue with Transact but I also have a subscription to SC data feed. Data Feed from SC not updating charts and quotes in computer where SC connects fine to Transact. Been like this for the whole day.

Further to my previous post. Contacted Transact and Transact credentials are ok, CREDENTIALS work using TRANSACT WEB SOCKET in my other computers which are running the previous versions of SC. Its only the new version SC 1991 that does not connect to Transact. It does connect to SC DATA ALL SERVICES but charts do not update and quotes are blank. Same problem with SC DATA ALL SERVICES in other computers as well, although these other computers DO CONNECT to TRANSACT WEB SOCKET.

Almost 24 hours with no live feed from SC.
Your only reply to this issue, besides contacting Transact, was:

"If you are unable to quickly get this resolved with Transact we want you to change Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to SC Data-All Services. This way you can receive the data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed now."

BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. I get a connection, but charts and quotes do not update.

It seems to be an issue with version 1991 and its connection to Transact and from there the real time update while connected to SC data.. Please let me know if it is an issue from your end, so I can wait until its resolved, or to see if I keep trying to connect, close and open SC etc, etc.

The ultimate problem is the CME rules here. Their rules are the reason the data is not accessible.

Follow the instructions here if you are having trouble connecting to Transact:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TransAct.php#AccountLogonError

Only Transact can help you get connected to their system and once that is done then you will be able to receive the real time CME data from the SC exchange data feed. There is not a problem with version 1991 at all. If it is not connecting to Transact only Transact can help you with that.

But we went ahead and authorized your account for CME data for a couple of days knowing that you have one with Transact.

But we need to restate this information:

I have been in contact with Transact (support and through broker).
Connection to Transact WS was never successful.

Transact's final response was that if I was using a "stand alone" copy of SC (which I am) to contact SC directly as the problem was not on their side (Transact's side). According to that statement, TRANSACT WS will only work with a copy of SC installed along with their trading platform and launched by the trading platform.

As there is NO resolution of the issue, could you please advise with is the latest version of SC that provides a connection to TRANSACT TRADING (NOT TRANSACT WS)?

Thank You

If that is what Transact is tell you please consider using another supported trading service. What they are telling you is not even true. They can so easily solve this problem. This is not making any sense. Please let us know if you need help with that.

According to that statement, TRANSACT WS will only work with a copy of SC installed along with their trading platform and launched by the trading platform.
This makes no technical sense. The connection method to Transact is completely identical whether Sierra Chart is provided through Transact or used separately. So therefore if they are not allowing a connection to the websocket connection unless you are using Sierra Chart provided by them, then this is deliberate. Why are they doing that?

Please do not continue with Transact. If they have any complaint about what we are saying here, this is simply something they must take responsibility for. They are not solving a problem which is so simple for them to solve and you are saying they have given you a final answer.

Spoke to the client, he is going to utilize the older version of Sierra Chart and wait to possibly upgrade later.

This is a problem that Transact has to resolve for you, and they are capable of resolving it instantly for you right now. And they are not acting responsibly if they are not taking care of it for you.

You can upgrade all you want. It will change nothing.

(update)
Transact has solved the problem. Apparently its a different authorization to the old Transact Trading connection to connect to Transact WS and they have to do it specifically from their end.
