We have solved the problem to the best we can right now, by providing you with real-time data for your desktop Sierra Chart application until the end of the month -- we will monitor the situation over this 2 weeks.

There is no exchange fee until the end of the month.

So another words there is no cost to you at this time.

As I've stated, I appreciate that. I wasn't referring to one month; if there is no solution then it's not a one-month issue.

Thank you. I will await your reply in two weeks.

We want to know if you are still getting these exceptions in the Message Log:
GAIN Capital FAST Data socket (2) | Caught an unhandled exception from the owner OnBufferedSocketReceivedData in c_BufferedSocket2::OnReceivedDataFromCore | 2019-01-11 16:26:08 *

Or messages like this:
GAIN Capital FAST Data: No template with ID 103730. | 2019-01-11 16:26:08 *

We are going to add improved logging to try to isolate the problem but really we need to be able to detect a decoding error. This is why we want to know if these occur at the time you see a problem with invalid values.

Please see the file I posted Bid-Ask Volume Data Error | Post: 168764 SC SUM 190116 today, the second one for sure just a different ID.

The first one at 0424ET this morning, I am not sure if it had the "GAIN Capital FAST Data socket (2) | Caught an unhandled exception" like on 2019-01-11, but the subsequent error listings were the similar, e.g., "GAIN Capital FAST Data: Failed to decode a message. No template with ID: 127

Can you update to the latest pre-release of Sierra Chart:
Software Download: Fast Update

It is version 1862.

In that version you will need to set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Settings >> Record FAST Data to enabled.

And then reconnect to the data feed:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

The data recording will be a big file but will not get bigger than 1 GB. When you have a problem let us know and then we will get that file from you.

1862 installed and set Record FAST data - true. If issue occurs overnight, where should I send file - or should I just upload here? I assumed its a log file that would be coded "GAIN Capital FAST Data XXXXXX.txt". If so there are already a few files with that nomenclature dated Jan 2019

I think I found the files that you need ... are they located in SocketData folder? If so, shall I zip and forward?

That is the file. You can zip it and attach it here but you really should use the 7 zip program and use maximum compression.

ok, so shall I keep record FAST on or set it to off (false)?

You can set it back to false now. We are going to be testing the data you gave. Hopefully we can reproduce the problem and at least resolve the exception and then understand exactly what is going wrong.

This is our conclusion:
It seems it is a server error representing the FAST data.

We can send the information we have to gain capital but it is highly doubtful they will do anything. This is incredibly complex stuff, and they are using an encoder from http://OpenFAST.org/

So in other words, the problem is not solvable by us unless we have made some mistake that we did not recognize but we can only spend so much time looking into this. We don't think there would be any solution from the Gain Capital side either.

FYI, that link fails.

Well most disconcerting to say the least. Please send info to Gain - can't hurt.

Lastly, is there anything that may be causing the issue on my end? Still running same antivirus, firewall, anti-malware, OS as before mid-Dec 2018 when the issues began. The only changes would be any updated to those that occurred. Would any of these potentially cause an issue that could result in a problem? For example, maybe a very short connection (as in milliseconds) connection disruption that could cause an issue resulting in the bogus data that corrupts SC charts? Grasping at straws.

Okay we will let Gain Capital know. But it is interesting that apparently the encoder they are using does not even have a website any longer.

There might be something on your side causing the problem but we find that very hard to believe but it also is quite unusual you are the only one affected which seems to imply that the issue could be on your side but as we said that is very hard for us to believe. It is not something we normally see.

Our offer still remains open where we can give you at least one month free for the Sierra Chart exchange data feed aside from the exchange fees. And we will extend this offer to two months for 20 symbols.

Yes very odd indeed, but then the entire situation is odd. Began on a certain date, typically the events occur same time of day, etc. I am grasping for straws in trying to determine why I am the only one and why it suddenly began when I have not changed anything on my system.

Just FYI -

Windows 10 Pro 1809 17763.253
Bitdefender 2019 Total Security
MalwareBytes Premium

The only other thing I can think of that would have any control over connection is a utility that came installed with this Dell system, Killer Network Service.

FYI I've got a 1Gb Comcast connection.

Thank you on offer and I appreciate that; I'll get back with you on that at some point.

I don't know if FASTIO is the same process as the FAST you've referenced, but I happened to notice this today ...

Wow. I thought this issue was solved. I had absolutely no issues since last week of Feb 2019. I have been upgrading to new versions with each pre-release. I recently upgraded to 1915 whenever that was released. NO issues until today. After the first issue I then upgraded to version 1917 and again the data problem occurred. :(

Regarding post #71, that is not related. That looks like something specific to your system.

Regarding post #72, there has been no changes with FAST processing in Sierra Chart other than logging, in recent months.

This is not a version specific issue.
