Hello,

I have activated the 2 week trail for $5 and I am not getting futures data to my pc? I spoke with barchart and they told me the saw the trail active and didn't understand why I wasn't receiving the data? I temporarily disconnected it because it now says $35 recurring at the end of the month.
Is there something I need to change or a setting that needs to be adjusted? Does my broker need to be involved even on a trial?

Please advise

Can you tell me if I am still in a trial or not? It seems that the full CME data is activated and my trial is no longer valid due to the reoccurring charges that are shown in my account.

The way it is explained on the website is that the cost is 5 us dollars for 2 weeks however, then it says you must activate the exchanges you want to receive data from. Once you do this it cancels the trial. It is very confusing.

please advise

Whether your Sierra Chart account is a trial or not is not relevant here.

Once you do this it cancels the trial. It is very confusing.
This is not true.

Who is your futures broker? For the reason why we ask this question, refer to:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges

You need to connect Sierra Chart to your trading service to meet CME rules since you are using one of the lower-priced CME exchange fees. Follow the instructions here:

If you do not have a futures trading account, then you need to use the higher-priced CME exchange fees.

This is explained here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/FuturesData.php#CMEExchangesNotEntitledUnlessTradingAccount

The problem is since you activated one of the CME exchanges, due to CME rules, if you activate any of the other higher-priced exchange fees, you have to pay for them in full. There is no longer a trial available even if you are not able to use the previous one you activated.

There is no other way to explain CME rules other than to say they are insane. That is a simple fact.

Hi,

First, I do appreciate the help. I am not arguing CME or SC. Just trying to figure this out.

I do have an account with Phillip Capital. I only changed the selection to see if that would get me back to the trial. I also would be charged a data feed fee from CQG(Phillip connects through them) which I was trying to avoid, hence why I was going for a trial.
That being said, I pressed activate due to the instructions I was reading on the set up. This is the part that is very confusing.

What do I do from here? No trial and no data...are you stating I have to pay $35 now?

If so, that takes me through the end of January, correct?

Does that include any platform fee's?

Please advise

No. Not now.

You did properly activate the data feed. You are on the data feed trial. So there is no problem with that.

To get the real-time CME data, you will need to connect Sierra Chart to your CQG account with Phillips. Here are the instructions for that:

Ok.

Lastly, Phillip states they do not have any control over the demo/sim environment in there end.

I do recall that there is a simulation feature within SC correct?

I don’t want to take live trades as I get used to the DOM.

We do not know the relevancy of this here. But you do need to connect to your Live CQG account if you have one. Here are the instructions for that:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

I do recall that there is a simulation feature within SC correct?
Yes for trading but not to provide real-time CME data at the lower-priced exchange fees without an authorized trading account.
