Unable to Update with New Data Since I Installed Version 1224, Then I Went Back to Version 1217

Earlier this morning, I believe I had Version 1217 and the Delete and Download Data menu item worked fine to update with new data. I decided to install version 1224 and after that, the Delete and Download Data menu item did not work. I tried the new naming convention and old one (ESH15 and ESH5, NGG15 and NGG5), but it did not work either way I tried to update the data. Therefore, I decided to reinstall version 1217 again to see if updating with new data would work and it did not work anymore, unlike early this morning when it did work with my old version 1217. What am I doing wrong? I can log into Sierra Chart just fine. I'm questioning if it has to do with a firewall blocking the connection to the Sierra Chart data server. The reason is that if I change the Chart Settings from Intraday Chart to Historical Chart and the Symbol from NGG5 to NGG15, I do get recent daily info and the Historical Download Complete message. Does the firewall make a difference between Historical and Intraday Chart data downloads? This exact same firewall early today did not cause any issues when using the old Version 1217 for several weeks. It was only after I installed the new version 1224 and then switched back to installing version 1217 that I had firewall issues. Does the firewall make a difference between Historical and Intraday Chart data downloads? Yes it does because there are different servers and protocols being used between these chart data types.And updating software does cause some firewalls to block Internet connectivity to the software program. This is especially true of McAfee and Norton. For those who are searching for a solution for not being able to download SC Intraday Data due to the Port 10149 issue, I was able to resolve this and download the data by enabling Port 80 by doing the Using Port 80 Help Topic here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html |
