We have been contemplating some of these postings about issues with the state of MDI windows when switching between Chartbooks and them not being restored as they were regarding the z-order. There has been a significant internal change with window handling and internally Sierra Chart is much better organized, with all of this. And has a lot more extended capability compared to what the OS delivered for windows. However, we realize that we need to have a MDIShowNoActivate function internally implemented. And that would be used when switching among Chartbooks and restoring the current Chartbook. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We now understand the reason for the keyboard shortcut issues. This will be resolved, by the end of the day January 8.

Version 2856 has now been released, resolving window state issues, and issues with window states when switching between Chartbooks. Hopefully, there are no remaining issues. We do apologize for the window state issues. There are a large amount of scenarios, and as we go through some basic tests related to the development done, we do not encounter them all. And are also more subtle scenarios, that were never even considered. Or even noticeable. The keyboard issue, involving the Alt key will be resolved later today. We should have a new release out late tonight. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Over this weekend, we are going to lock out versions 2814 through version 2858. Version 2859 resolves various outstanding issues with the recent MDI window development. If you want to go back to a version of Sierra Chart before of all of this development use version 2813. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Some additional issues we are aware of: Apparently minimized windows, in Chartbooks from 2813 and earlier, do not open in a minimized state. When a window is minimized, the icon for restoring the window which is the third box from the right side of the chart, might look like two dots at an angle to each other. This is wrong. It is not supposed to look like that. We know why this is the case and that is actually correctable, by changing the width of this graphics setting to 1: Window System Minimize Maximize Close Foreground When selecting a tab on the MDI tab bar, and that particular window is minimized, it does not get restored. When using OpenGL spreadsheet windows do not show the title bar. All of the above will be resolved. Also, minimized charts should not be drawn and they will not be. Drawing will be skipped other than the title bar. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Version 2861 has now been released. But this is still an outstanding item: When using OpenGL spreadsheet windows do not show the title bar. It is released as a Prerelease, for the time being. 2862 has been released and this is resolved: When using OpenGL spreadsheet windows do not show the title bar.
Also, when minimizing a window to the bottom, it is moved to the bottom of the z-order. The centering of text on the title bar is now perfect when using the GDI. Although when using OpenGL, we have a report, that it is off center. We are looking into that. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. There is extensive rework, of the management of chart child windows, like the Time and Sales window, and Market Depth window, and trade window, when a chart is hidden or when switching Chartbooks. This is in version 2865. Some additional work is going to be done as well. We will go into more details, but these child windows are always destroyed if the associated chart is hidden or not in the visible Chartbook, in order to minimize what are called operating system "User" objects. This makes Sierra Chart a lot more efficient. You will notice some amount of flicker and slight delay when switching between Chartbooks, but just understand that there is a major efficiency advantage in this. We will go into more details later. We can also support, a hiding mode for these child windows, but it does complicate the code. So we are not opposed to that, but until we get this development all finalized, this is not something something we want to do. And there is a disadvantage in this. 2865, also completes development, of the new Ask Volume Bid Volume difference market data columns. There are dedicated color settings for these columns and the diagonal calculations match Numbers Bars. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
