Hello,

I am using Candlestick Bars in Sierra Chart.

Yesterday I changed the candle wick color and wick width separately from the candle body outline and fill colors.

Today I cannot find where those wick settings are located.

Can you tell me the exact menu path and exact setting names used to change:

1. Wick color
2. Wick width/thickness

for Candlestick Bars?

Thank you.

Hello,

I would like to ask about the study:

Trading System Based on Alert Condition.

I can see the Settings and Inputs, Subgraphs, and Alerts tabs, but I do not understand exactly how this study works.

Could you please explain:

1. What is the intended purpose of this study?
2. How is the Alert Condition field supposed to be configured?
3. Can this study be used only for visual buy/sell signals, or can it also generate actual automated trade entries?
4. Is there documentation or an example showing a complete working setup?

Thank you.

In the recent releases where the Graphics Settings have been separated and use the new style Sierra Chart windows, you will find these at the following and the 3 items below it:
Global Settings >> Graphics Settings - Colors >> Chart >> Candlestick Up Outline

You can also use the search function at the top of the window to find this.

In the old-style window, it is named the same thing - you would have to scroll through the items to find it in the list.

4. Is there documentation or an example showing a complete working setup?

1. To be able to enter a trade based on alert condition that you setup.

2. Refer to the following:

3. Either

4. The documentation for this is here:

Hola,

Gracias.

Thanks.

With regards to Liquidity and Fair Value Gaps, the answer is that we do not have specific indicators that will give you exactly what you are looking for.

With regards to Imbalances, refer to the following:

I am using Volume At Price Threshold Alert V2.

The extended imbalance zone is displayed correctly, but it is too thin.

Is there a way to make the extended imbalance zone thicker or taller?

I want the extended imbalance zone to represent more of the original imbalance area from the candle, so I can clearly see when price has only partially filled the imbalance and when it has completely filled the imbalance.

Is there a setting for this?

Thank you.

We are not understanding what exactly you are looking for.

You define the Volume Threshold that you want to use, and if you are using the "Highlight Adjacent Alerts" option, then you define how many adjacent alerts are needed for them to be highlighted.

We are not sure what kind of control you are looking for beyond these items.

Thank you for the reply.

I am referring specifically to the "Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2" study.

I am not referring to the volume threshold settings or to the "Highlight Adjacent Alerts" option.

My question is about the visual height of the imbalance/alert zone that is drawn on the chart and extended forward.

The extended zone appears very thin vertically. Is there any setting that allows the extended zone to retain more of the original height of the imbalance area so that it is easier to see when price has partially filled the imbalance versus when it has completely filled it?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am configuring my market structure chart and would like to know if Sierra Chart has any native studies for:

1. Order Blocks.
2. Supply and Demand Zones.

If native studies exist for these functions, could you please tell me:

* The exact study name.
* Where to find it in Analysis >> Studies.
* Whether any special configuration is required.

Thank you.

There are two options related to this.

First, there is the Input in the "Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2" for "Draw Extenstions with Transparent Range". This will group together adjacent alerts and create a rectangle that extends forward. Refer to the following:
Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2: Draw Extension Lines with Transparent Range

Second, if you are not using the above, and you are displaying the individual lines, then you can change the width of that line in the Subgraph for those lines, which is SG60 and is named "Extension Line Properties". Refer to the following:
Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Line Width

I am configuring my market structure chart and would like to know if Sierra Chart has any native studies for:

1. Order Blocks.
2. Supply and Demand Zones.

We are not certain what exactly you are looking for with regards to these. Sierra Chart has nearly 600 studies available, so we may have what you are looking for. You can find the full list of studies at the following link. You can do a search on that page based on the name, or you can use Google to search that part of our site and look for more specific keywords.

Hola,

Gracias por la respuesta anterior.

Estoy buscando específicamente una herramienta nativa de Sierra Chart para mostrar automáticamente:

1. Bloques de órdenes (Order Blocks).
2. Zonas de oferta y demanda (Supply and Demand).

* El nombre exact

I am specifically looking for a native Sierra Chart tool to automatically display:

2. Supply and Demand zones.

I am not referring to volume profiles or "Volume By Price."

I am looking for zones that are drawn on the price chart and can serve as a reference for potential institutional reactions.

Is there a native Sierra Chart study for this?

If so, could you please tell me:

* The exact name

As we stated previously - we do not know what exactly you are looking for in terms of "Order Blocks" and "Supply and Demand Zones". We would need more information on what exactly these do so we could help you find them.

But, you can also look through our list of studies and see if there is something you can find in them.

Hola,

Gracias por la respuesta.

Estoy usando el estudio "Volume At Price Threshold Alert V2".

Ya tengo activada la opción:

"Draw Extension Lines With Transparent Range" = Yes.

También probé modificar el subgráfico:

SG60 - Extension Line Properties

Gracias.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

I am using the "Volume At Price Threshold Alert V2" study.

I already have the following option enabled:

"Draw Extension Lines With Transparent Range" = Yes.

I also tried modifying the sub-graph:

SG60 - Extension Line Properties

I changed the Width/Size of SG60 to 5, then to 25, then to 85, and also to 0, but visually, the extended zone did not change. The height/thickness of the extended zone looks exactly the same.

My goal is not just to change the thickness of an individual line.

What I want is for the extended zone to retain more of the original imbalance's vertical height, so I can better distinguish when the price has partially filled the imbalance versus when it has fully filled it.

Is there a setting that allows the extension to preserve that original vertical height?

Or is this study only capable of extending lines/ranges in the current manner, without allowing for the representation of a taller extended zone?

Thanks.

Changing the Width of SG60 (Extension Line Properties) should change the thickness of the extension lines. The only reason this would not change them is if you have the Input for "Draw Extension Lines with Transparent Range" set to "Yes".

Please try both of these options and see which one you prefer.

There is no option to automatically set the width/height of the extension lines to be the same as the height of a price level.

Hello,

I have a question regarding the account activity requirements.

Is it necessary to perform any transactions periodically to maintain the account's current terms?

For example:

1. Is it necessary to make at least one transaction each month?
2. Is there a minimum activity requirement?
3. Do I lose any promotion, benefit, or special condition if I do not trade for a period of time?
4. Are there any important activity rules that a new user should be aware of?

Thanks.

We are not a broker. We do not have any requirements like this for your Sierra Chart software.

You would need to ask your broker about this as it relates to your brokerage account.

Hello.

I have two questions regarding my Sierra Chart setup.

1. Multi-monitor layout

I use 3 monitors and 6 charts.

Chart #1 and #2 are on Monitor 1.
Chart #3 and #4 are on Monitor 2.
Chart #5 and #6 are on Monitor 3.

Currently I can arrange the charts using the monitor's window management features, but I want Sierra Chart itself to save and restore the chart positions.

What is the recommended Sierra Chart method to permanently save the chart locations so that each chart automatically opens on the correct monitor after restarting Sierra Chart?

2. Chart scaling

On Chart #1 (1 Minute), the candles appear compressed at the top of the chart and there is a large empty area below.

What is the correct way to adjust the chart scaling so the candles use more of the available screen space?

Thank you.

1. Sierra Chart does save the positions of the charts, so you should have the charts going back to where they were when you set them up.

Although we do not understand what you mean by "using the monitor's window management features". We wonder if this somehow is not giving the correct information to Sierra Chart so that it is not aware of the positions of the windows. Try moving the charts to the respective monitors and setting them up "manually", then save the chartbook, close it, and reopen it - the charts should be in the correct positions.

2. If you are using a scale range of "Automatic", then the candles will fill in automatically into the available area. If you move them, then they will stay relative to that new position. You can reset the scales by following these instructions:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Resetting the Scale

But there are a few different scale range options, so depending on what you are using, it could be that what you are seeing is correct for the way that scale is setup. You need to determine what works best for you. Refer to the following:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Scale Range (Scale Settings)

Hello,

My Sierra Chart has been frozen for about 1.5 hours.

I closed Sierra Chart completely.
I shut down the computer and left it powered off for about 30 minutes.
After restarting Windows, the problem is still exactly the same.

Yesterday everything was working normally and we were configuring charts and studies.

Could you please tell me what might be causing this issue and how to diagnose it if it happens again?

Thank you.
