John,
My eurostoxx won't load. I first get message in bright red, see screenshot. Then it just goes all blank. My euro vix from the same exchange is working fine. I have tried

1- deleting and reloading data
2- doing the old 'translate symbol...' trick
3- restarting instance (this instance also has the euro vix which is working perfectly)

Ideas???

John,
I have gotten it working, but fuck me, what a workaround. It absolutely would not load in All Service. So I copied chartbook, and put it in teton. I had to do 'translate symbol...'. Still wouldn't work. I then click into settings and go to change symbol. ( I thought I would try to reload it...) well it didn't default to Futures-EUREX like it should have, as you can see, it was coming from 'Free Trial Symbols' I thought, wtf is this? So I clicked on to Eurex and found Stoxx and boom the chart loaded.

Again, genius girl found a solution, but something ain't right with that product...

John, this 'free trial symbols' is now affecting other products. I went to add days to my nq and es charts, as the price has fallen so much, we are back at prices from last summer. It ignores my request for 300days, and will only go back as far as November. I thought wtf is going on now? Sure enough, I look at the chart settings, and you see clearly that the default after hitting select on the symbol goes to 'free trial' and not to Futures-CME as it should. What is going on??? Yes, I have Rythmic for execution, but I have All service for the feed, so it can't be Rythmic screwing it up. See screenshot. So now we have multiple products all doing something weird with 'free trial'

Thank you for your help

closed SC overnight and just opened up that chartbook. All the charts were black and dead. Can't even right click on them. So I go Chart settings, and to the symbol where yet again it's on the 'free trial' at the top. Then I go down to CME futures, re choose the symbol, and presto the charts reload... John something v v wrong here. Sure I can fix but what is going on? What is this 'free trial' and why has it taken over my symbols?

sorry, just to make sure you see what is going on. 1- this what a chart looks like. Blank, black and dead. 2- is after I go to chart settings and reload the CME-Futures symbol the chart begins to reload.

Do you think this is somethng with Apex and Rythmic? BUT NOTE-THIS CHARTBOOK IS A SEPARATE SC LOG IN, AND NOTHING TO DO WITH APEX. So actually I think the answer is no, so what is causing this

The "_Free_Trial_Symbols" that are listed are specifically the symbols that can only be used when on a Trial.

There is no reason for that to have anything to do with your charts. Although we do not know why it would be selected when you open the "Find Symbol" window.

In the end, the question is what is the symbol of the chart when you are having a problem and when you are not. From what we see in the image you provided, you have symbols set for "Teton" and for "SC Data". For instance, you have a chart for "NQH26_FUT_CME" - this is a symbol for Teton. But you also have a symbol for "ESM16-CME" which is a symbol for "SC Data".

To us, it appears you have some confusion on the symbols that are being used for the particular service. Make sure you have these correct.

Also, you are not setup to get any real-time data for EUREX from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. The exchange expired on January 31, 2026 and you have not re-activated it since then. You can activate the exchange at the following link:

John,
I must make it very clear that everything was working fine last week. All the charts were on All Service in various instances and chartbooks. On Sat I restart and open everything up to begin the weekend prep work. I begin opening each instance, and things seem fine. Then I get to instance 2 and open the chartbooks for Euro VIX and the euro stoxx. The vix one opens just fine. The Stoxx opened as you can see blank black and nothing loaded. Only by chance, when I had tried the usual tricks, and went to check the symbol I saw it defaulted to the Free Trial. REMEMBER I SHUT OFF FRIDAY AND ALL WAS WORKING. I RESTART ON SAT AND EURO STOXX ARE DEAD.... I fixed the issue by changing all the symbols from the Free Trial back TO WHERE THEY WERE ON FRIDAY, which is the CME-future. Do you understand? The Stoxx chartbook over the shutdown and restart spontaneously defaulted to the 'free trial'.

The next thing that went wrong was in my main tpo chartbook. I needed more days to load, as the price had moved so much lower. None of the tpos would load past Nov 2025. So I thought, wtf is wrong? Having just resolved the Stoxx issue, I once again checked the symbol, and you saw from the photo I took of the screen the entire chartbook futures all default as well to 'Free Trial'

I hope this is clear. I changed NOThING. I simply closed down on Friday and restarted Sat with multiple corrupted chartbooks, which defaulted to this 'Free Trial'. I have fixed them all by manually changing every one back to what they were on Friday. I am worried that if and when I shut down again, they will corrupt again.

thanks mate, you have to understand what happened, and I hope you can trust me now that I know a lot about SC and I don't ask stupid things anymore. I fixed this, but it doesn't answer WHY it happened...

What symbols are you using for Euro Vix and Euro Stoxx?

Also, we do not really understand what you are referring to in terms of the symbols changing to the "_Free_Trial_Symbols". Those symbols are just a list of symbols. The only CME Group symbols in there are MES and YM. And the format will match the format that is used when your "Current Selected Service" is set to "SC Data".

Were you going to "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol" and selecting the "Select" button within there? If so, what was the symbol prior to selecting the "Select" button? And what symbol came up selected in the Find Symbol window?

aaaghhh John, I am getting a tiny bit frustrated because I showed you previously, but will again that YES IT DEFAULTS TO FREE TRIAL NOT FUTURES-EUREX. This morning, I went to roll the H euro vix to M. I clicked on 'perform rollover', it came up with a box that said no additional symbols found... I thought oh fuck, it's happening again. Sure enough, and please LOOK AT THE SCREENSHOTS, this is a mess. Something very bad is happening in 'all service'. Teton is working just fine
1- in first screenshot taken with my phone you see the blue highlighted 'free trial symbols' is highlighted when I follow chart-chart settings-symbol-select. DO YOU SEE???

2- next screenshot is when I click on Eurex and open to find the euro vix, what do you see??? The list of available products is reduced to about 10! no euro vix, along with a ton of missing other ones

3- last shot, to solve my eurostoxx issue yesterday, I moved the Stoxx chartbook from 'all service' to Teton. Presto it worked... Now look at when I open(this is in Teton) chart settings-symbol-select... whaddya see? ALL OF the available eurex products including VStoxx...

Now do you see these issues? Mate, on my dog's life(and I would die for my dog), this is NOT an operator issue, there is something very wrong right now with my all service feed knocking my products out of the normal FUTURES-... to f'ing Free Trial. Do you want me to video, but you must see from these screen shots what I am telling you is fact, not me being an idiot.

Please, John, trust me, there really is an issue here. Thanks, mate, Karen

well well, what happens when I took that eurto stoxx chartbook, and copied and moved it over to Teton. PRESTO! works perfectly and look at where it defaults to??? NOT to that fricking 'free trial' but where it belongs in in fully stocked Eurex drop down. NOW do you guys see what is happening?

THANK YOU. You have to be proud of me, that I get far enough to identify and 'temp fix' the issue, but Houston we a problem here...

The fact that the _Free_Trial_Symbols is getting highlighted when you go to select a symbol has nothing to do with what is occurring. That just happens to be what is showing up in that window due to the system not being able to find a matching symbol. That is completely unrelated to what is going on.

As to what is happening - we want to start off by saying that the symbols that you show in some of the early images were incorrect - they were Rithmic symbols and not the symbols for "SC Data" or for "Teton". For instance, from the first post you made, in the file named "redwarning.png", the symbol is showing as "FESX0326.EUREX". The FESX (Euro Stoxx 50) does not have the "0326" as part of the symbol for SC Data and the separator between the symbol and the exchange should be a dash (-) not a dot (.). The dot (.) is a Rithmic thing.

So the main issue was incorrect symbols for some reason.

As to the shortened list of EUREX symbols in the "Find Symbol" window, that is due to your "Current Selected Service" being set to "Rithmic". We can tell this by the symbols in the list having the dot (.) separator. And the specific list of symbols is what we display in that window when you are connected to Rithmic.

And finally, we want to point out again that you are not setup for the real-time data for EUREX. If you are fine with the delayed data, then this is not a problem, but we want to ensure that you have what you need.

Hi,
Ok I knew this had something to do with Rythmic, they are f'ing up my 'all service' feed. I think what I am going to do is create a SC login on 'all service' that only has Rhythmic and trading doms. NO charts... So there is no contamination, as something from Rythmic is deffo corrupting my chartbooks

Yeah I know eurex is delayed. I don't trade it, just look at the charts, so it's ok it's delayed.

Thank you, and the rest of the guys for your help

Karen
