This just started happening but when I go to start Sierra Chart it takes awhile for it to load and says that its non responsive. I took out all chartbooks on startup, I've tried it in safe mode, and it still says non responsive for about a minute or so when it opens. It is also causing my computer to freeze when it finally does start running and I have to restart my computer each time. I've tried the latest version (2671) and have gone down to previous versions. When I install a previous version it doesn't seem to happen the first time I open it. After that, it goes right back to being non responsive when I start it up. How can I fix this? I don't want to run it in safe mode all the time. That defeats the purpose of using it. What do I need to do so that it works like it used to and doesn't do this non responsive thing? |

If you are starting Sierra Chart in "Safe Mode" and you are having less issues, then that implies that you have a Custom Study that is causing an issue when you are NOT in Safe Mode. You would need to look into this by removing those custom studies to see how they impact the starting of the program. But, you also need to consider what is occurring when you start Sierra Chart. Any missing data is going to be downloaded and your charts are going to load the data available from your drive, and studies are going to be calculated. This can create a situation where a lot of CPU cycles are being used and Sierra Chart can appear to be in an "Unresponsive" state, and Windows may even state this. But it does not mean that the program is actually unresponsive, it just means there is a lot going on. But, refer to the following for the things you can do to improve performance and data loading: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-09-04 21:30:11

The problem could be related to Trade Activity files: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.51 - Very Large and/or Large Number of Trade Activity Files Check this. The quickest thing to do is to exit from Sierra Chart and rename the TradeActivityLogs subfolder to TradeActivityLogs_prior and then start Sierra Chart and see if the problem goes away. Ok. I'll try that. I may also be having issues with my graphics card. Maybe that's contributing to the problem as well. Thank you.
