I am interested in trading with a Leeloo practice account through rithmic using sierra chart platform. I did my research, and noticed that sierra chart does support rithmic intraday data, but doesn't recommend historical data by rithmic. I currently have SC denali feed and I am happy to say that I currently am using rithmic intraday data with SC denali feed for historical data. I think this is a really practical solution, and I am extremely happy and exited to achieve my trading objective in the practice account and then with an evaluation and a funded account with these top notch service setups. I know in the past there was some complication and there was some old documentation that I came across regarding how to setup the rithmic data. As I recall, the first thing I had to do was download Rtrader, and log in using the username and password, sign the agreement and if I'm not mistaken, keep the rithmic account open while trading on sierra chart. I know that I no longer need to setup the rithmic bridge files, but do I still need to keep the Rtrader open while trading on sierra chart with the rithmic data feed. I still haven't traded with the rithmic data feed, and am hoping got eliminate any loose strings, and make it as smooth as possible without any hasstles. It would be amazing if this could be the case. I've used FTMO practice account before but it's a different setup with aimfx and a lot of hassle. But I am very pleased with this setup just need to know if I need to keep Rtrader open while trading on sierra chart. As it seems a bit unnecesary.

We need to point out that you are either getting the data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed or from Rithmic. You are not getting a mix of both. As long as you have a verified trading account (which you do through December 16, 2022), an active Denali exchange (which you do - the Full CME Group with Market Depth), and the setting for Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to Yes (we can not tell this, you have to check), then you are getting the Denali data and not the Rithmic data.

As to whether you need to keep RTrader open, we do not think so, as you connect to the Server that is selected in the Data/Trade Service Settings. You are not connected to a local copy of RTrader.

Thankyou for that information. I still can't use the rhythmic data connection. I am using Denali feed intraday data, but I am not getting any movement of the price. I don't think I have to leave the R trader platform open like I do with the Interactive Broker Trader Workstation, right? I am really confused. Please help me figure this out.

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We will then determine what the problem is.

Thanks for the response. It was the setup with my account provider. I am now using a different account provider. It works fine. Still using Rithmic. Love the service.

I am having the same issue again. I can't connect to rithmic data service. I already connected SC to my live account, and everything that I know of is in order, but I am still not getting the data service to work. Same issue as vefore. I would like to send you the message log so you can find out the problem.

We see the log you provided. You are using the wrong symbols. You need to translate them with Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service:

I did. I went back to rithmic trader service on sierra chart. I had to use SC data to see the data. Now I'm back on rithmic trader service and I am having the same issue. I submited the copy for analysis. I also pressed the translate symble to current service on the edit tab.

Your current log shows that you are NOT connected our the Denali Exchange Data Feed. This is from this line:
Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is disabled.

This will mean that you are trying to get the data from Rithmic. We can not help with Rithmic data. Refer to the following:

Also, you have at least one symbol that is not correct, as we see the following in the log "MES-202309-CME-USD". You would need to change this to the proper Rithmic symbol.

We recommend setting the option for Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds to Yes. You will then be getting the data for the "Full CME Group with Market Depth", as you have this exchange active on your account.

If you do change the above setting, you will need to select "File >> Reconnect" after closing that window to force the change.

Yes. You are right. I had 4 different charts open. One of them might have had the wrong symble. I ended up closing all the charts and opening a new set of charts. It downloaded the historical data again and it is working now. I also changed the setting on Data/Trade service settings. For my later review. Just in case this happens again. Thanks.

can you help me? I had to connect to my live account a while back. I did, and it is now still not letting me trade on my rythmic account. This keeps hapenning. I closed all the charts and opened new ones. It still is not working. I have allowed sierra chart data feed on the settings.

its the same issue. I would get a message saying I have to connect to a live brokerage account to continue to use my sierra chart data through rythmic, so I connect to my interactive broker account on sierra chart. Then I go back to the rythmic service with sierra chart data enabled. It still the same. Last time the data would start being active once I closed all the charts ad then openened new charts, but this time its not working after I open new charts. I don't know why. My data stops working for two different reasons. One is when I need to pay the monthly fee, another is when I need to connect to a live trading account. I just don't want to keep getting kicked out of the rythmic account, because I want to keep trading with the same account so that I can review my past trades on the same account/activity log.

Everything looks good on your account. You have the "Full CME Group with Market Depth For Non-Professional Accounts" activated and your Verified Until date is set to September 13, 2023.

Therefore, you should not be having an issue with the data unless there is a network problem or a particular setting is incorrect.

Please get us your Message Log by following these instructions:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Close all of the Chartbooks with "File >> Close All Chartbooks".

Open a single chart for the symbol you have an issue with through "File >> Find Symbol". Tell us that symbol of the chart. Tell us about *one* symbol only.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

I think I found the problem. I was using the different symble of ES. I went to find symble, then I found the correct symbol, then I clicked change chart simbol. that way, I don't have to open a new chart. When I click change symble to current service, it doesn't do anything. I had to do it manually. Thanks. Will remember this for next time.
