I am not getting data for the NSDAQ even though I signed up for the service and signed all the documents. I received a message that I was approved for the data and that it would start in 3 minutes. It has been at least 30 minutes and I have logged out of
Sierra and logged back in. Still not receiving data. I'm not sure what else to do. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Make sure your symbols have the suffix of '-NQTV' (IBM-NQTV, not IBM), as this denotes that the data is to come from our NASDAQ TotalView exchange and not from our U.S. Equities exchange.

If this does not solve your issue, then we would need to see your Message Log by following these instructions:
Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases)

We will then determine what the problem is.

I'm trying to trade the Q's. When I open a historical chart it isn't giving me data. Also my friend is trading QQQ.(M). I cant find that anywhere and our number bar charts are totally different in what it shows. My numbers are mostly just 3 or 4 digits where his is at least 5 digits. I'm trying to figure out why we aren't seeing the same thing. Any Ideas?

We do not list all of the instruments that are traded on the NASDAQ in our list under Find Symbol. We just put in about 100 of the most popular. QQQ-NQTV, however, is in the list, so you could select it there and open the chart for it through Find Symbol.

But, you can just type in the name on the Find Symbol page and then select either Intraday or Historical chart.

The important thing is that the symbol needs to be QQQ-NQTV, otherwise you will get delayed data from our U.S. Equities exchange.

As long as you have the correct symbol, then you should not have any issue opening an Historical chart. If this is an issue then we would need to see a screenshot of what you are seeing when you have that chart open.

In terms of the Numbers Bars being different, this would be due to the NASDAQ TotalView not having the consolidated tape for all the exchanges on which an instrument is traded. Right now, we just have the data from the NASDAQ exchange. Refer to the following for more information:

My friend uses sierra and his numbers are way bigger than mine on his number bar charts. They don’t match mine. Why would that be? Also his symbol on the top of his chart doesn’t have the NQTV on it. His just has QQQ (m).

That is why - because he is using a different data feed.

We have two different sources of data for U.S. Stocks. They each have tradeoffs.

1) Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed with U.S. Equities exchange: Uses the standard stock symbol (e.g. IBM). Has the full consolidated tape. Does not include Market Depth data.

2) Denali Exchange Data Feed with NASDAQ TotalView exchange: Uses a modified stock symbol (e.g. IBM-NQTV). Does not have the consolidated tape (only volumes from NASDAQ). Includes the Market Depth data.

We are working on getting the consolidated tape for the NASDAQ TotalView exchange, but we do not have it yet. If you are interested in our U.S. Equities exchange, then refer to the information here:
