The order was filled at 10:58:42 am ET for 1 ES contract @ 3975. The order doesn't show up on my trade activity nor was it ever shown as executed on my chart.

As you would imagine since the order didn't go through on sierra's end, I didn't think anything of it until I checked my broker and I was in a live position that had gone way past my automatic stop (which didn't register either).

How and why did this happen?

Let me know if you need anything else from me like screenshot's from broker or sierra, etc

Thank you in advance.

If the order was entered in Sierra Chart you should definitely see activity records for it in the Trade Activity Log:
Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity

There should be no reason why that data would be missing. We would not have any explanation for why data would be missing. Unless it were deleted or your system ran out of storage space. But those would be unlikely.

Here is my trade activity, there was clearly something going on with the errors. I don't have a buy execution on my chart but i have a sell for that position that I'm writing about.

Here are 2 screenshots I took, one of my brokers (via Rithmic) order window and one of Sierra's. Both of these were taken at 11:39am ET.

The order that you have highlighted with order ID 5603 was not responded to by Rithmic. This would have been a Rithmic issue. Or a communication issue.

However, even with a communication issue, that issue would clear and then the state of the order would become available. This should not take any longer than about a minute.

If you are doing live trading we definitely recommend using Teton order routing:

Unfortunately Teton is not a viable option for me.

I spoke to rithmic/apex and they pointed in your direction saying the error was not on them. Now SC is saying it's a rithmic error.

Not sure what to even do now, who's at fault here?

It is not a Sierra Chart problem at all. An order not acknowledged is not an issue on the Sierra Chart side. That is impossible. It is due to a server issue or a connectivity issue.

Sometimes there can be an issue like this. Hopefully it is an uncommon occurrence which we would expect.

It was the first time happening so I really hope it was just a one off.

I spoke to Rithmic/Apex's support team and they responded with:

"If Sierra Charts is claiming that it's a Rithmic issue, they will need to open a ticket with Rithmic's R|API team to have the issue resolved."

We would not open a ticket for this. This is not our issue. And most likely was due to a communication problem.
