Hi dear support team, have used Sierra already in the past but switched recently to new data feeds with Service package 10 + Denali for Nasdaq. If I type in a new symbol like TSLA or TSLA-NQTV it takes ages to download the data and if I apply a saved study collection to the chart I am left with only intraday data from the current day. All the past 6 months of data which was downloaded seem to be gone. Also I have set intraday days to load to 10 but still Sierra downloads 6 months of data for some charts and then on others only 1 month, have set trade data service settings to 60 days. Not sure what is the problem here, have read a lot and tried many different things but nothing seemed to work. Let me know if you know any fix around this. Cheers, Filip |

In terms of the amount of data initially downloaded, the primary driver is the setting in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings for Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download. Set this to the value for which you want the intraday data downloaded. Refer to the following: Data/Trade Service Settings: Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings) You would also want to set your default for Days to Load to be the same, or less than, what you set above. Refer to the following for how to do this: Chart Settings: Save Days to Load, Intraday Bar Period, Graph Draw Type as Default (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Chart Data menu) In terms of your Study Collection changing the amount of data displayed - do you have any custom studies in the collection? Thanks a lot for the fast reply and the helpful info. I had my charts "intraday data storage time unit" set to "1 tick", I guess thats why it took so long for the data to download. Since 1 min charts are the lowest timeframe I use, I should be good moving that setting a lot higher to 10s or so. One final question, I have one AAPL-NQTV chart where intraday data was downloaded but there is a gap between the current days data and the prior data, here I have data from July and then it jumps to November. |

You can change to 10 seconds, or whatever you feel is best, just be sure that any studies/indicators you use do not require 1 tick data, such as Numbers Bars or Volume by Price. Follow the instructions at the following link for how to redownload missing data: Data Errors or Spikes in Charts, Flat or Flat Line Graph, Compressed Graph, Errors with Date/Time Values: 2.1.2 Deleting and Re-downloading Data.
