Hi

I am an user in China. I do not know why I cannot log in today. Yesterday everything was good. Last month, I purchased a one-month package, which expires today. And a few days ago, I have renewed the service with a 6-month package. does the expiration of the last package cause this issue? I tried closing the firewall or making a new copy in another folder. none of them worked. Kindly ask for your help.

I made other attempts.
1. tried to open SC in the WINDOWS SAFE MODE. did not work either

2. tried to access SC on my Macbook pro laptop but the installer cannot install SC and said the same thing: HTTP issues. the connection was closed before a valid response was received

3. I used another VPN to log in. it did not work as well. still showed that the HTTP error

I am confused now. how can I log in? thank you very much for helping me out.

This is due to some network connectivity issue. The connection has been closed, before the response was received:

This is due to some issue, on your side with network connectivity.

We will see if there is anything we can do from our side on this. But would not seem likely. We will check on this today.

does the expiration of the last package cause this issue?
No definitely not. This is not a problem.

We will add additional usage time to your account to make up for any interruption. Did you have a problem previously? Is this a new issue?

Looks like you did everything possible. But we want to understand, if this is a new problem and if anything changed on your side regarding network connectivity?

thank you for your reply. I encountered this issue last month. I followed the instructions you give here HTTP Communication Errors to close the Windows firewall. then it can be used. But when I tried to update SC version. The log mentioned there were HTTP issues. so I gave up updating and just kept using the old version. But on the day before yesterday when my first package expired, I failed to log in. This time, as I mentions in the previous posts, I tried different methods. but none of them worked. It may be connectivity issues but I really do not have any ideas about its solutions. I even tried to open SC in a sandbox program. The same result.

Also, when I tried to use the SC installer. the same connection issue happened. the error code is 10053.

completely lost now. Kindly ask for your help. I am also wondering if remote assistance is available?

That is pretty weird. I tried to access SC on three difference devices (one PC, one laptop with windows, one laptop with OS system) in two different places. they all showed the same result. I sent it to my overseas friends and other friends. Overseas friends can open SC. Some domestic friends cannot some can. I have no idea how to fix it. Why it cannot work on the day when my first package expired. I would not say it is a coincidence. there may be some relationships with the expiration of the package and the login issues.

I asked an engineer to check my connectivity. He said my IP was blocked to access SC.

I used a software called NETCH to use Socks 5 proxy, and it worked. But still confused about how my IP can be blocked while my friends living in Shanghai or Beijing can normally use SC

We did a thorough review on our side, regarding If there is anything we can do on the Sierra Chart side to help with this. And we cannot find any possibility of a solution on the Sierra Chart side as it is clear this is an external issue.


No that does not make sense:

Yes. So you are in China? What is the best way to contact you.


Regarding post #7 Sierra Chart does not do any IP blocking. But we will double check.
