Hi Support... several times today after updating to 2353, historical data stopped. To get it working, I disconnected and reconnected. This solved the problem but odd.

It happened with both Denali/TT and Denali/Teton.

If it continues, I will follow up. No need to respond at this time.

Well, that was quick. It's happening again tonight on instance 2.

Instance 2 (Teton)
GC and CL historical both updating. ES historical is NOT updating
Real-time working

Instance 1 (TT)
ES, GC, CL historical and real-time working

Disconnect and reconnect again.

I have not been able to do anything either tonight. I have Package 11 with Denali and CME live data. It loads the charts, then it says historical download complete and then it freezes and starts re-connecting again and redownloading historical data and the whole cycle repeats non stop. The whole problem is with historical data.

This is not clear for us. Anyway, this must be some external Internet connectivity issue.

We have had solid connectivity since our connection at 1 PM to the Denali Exchange Data Feed for today. No connection lost at all. None to this very moment.

We can look at the issue, but we need to see a Message Log. Refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog

But once again, this must be an external connectivity issue. Which is fully expected on the Internet.

And also this issue is not at all version specific. It is not version specific. We are using version 2353 ourselves. Connectivity is very stable.

Hi Sierra Chart Engineering

I just sent you my message long at 11:30pm EST for analysis please. I have updated to the new version of Sierra and had never had this problem. But my charts are freezing every minute and it keeps reconnecting and redownloading historial data and I can;t do anything at all. I've had to force quit the program several times already.

Here is my Log. Historical data for YM, RTY and GC are currently not accurate on Instance 2 (Denali/Teton) and I just did a disconnect and reconnect.

Instance 1 (Denali/TT) is on the same computer and internet connection and ES, NQ, YM, RTY, GC and CL are all updating historical data.

Each instance has it's own separate SC installation and separate data directory.

Real-time data is working for all symbols on both instances.

Regarding post #5, you have CQG connectivity problems!:
CQG WebSocket | Timeout waiting for pong message from server. | 2022-02-07 23:28:30.836
CQG WebAPI | WebSocket closed. | 2022-02-07 23:28:30.836
Connection to the external service has been lost. | 2022-02-07 23:28:30.836

The log you showed shows this 7 times.

This is **not** related to Sierra Chart in any way or the Denali data feed. This is why we recommend users move to our Teton order routing service:
Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing

It has multiple ISPs, and therefore superior connectivity . Although we do not know whether this would help or not in this case. And you will save on transaction fees as well. There are none.

We do not know what this means:
Historical data for YM, RTY and GC are currently not accurate on Instance 2

However, if there is any missing data in the Intraday charts, refer to:

It simply means historical data stopped updating for YM, RTY and GC while ES and CL continued to update. This is still occurring at this moment and I will disconnect and reconnect again. The disconnect and reconnect worked to get them all updating for now but I expect this will continue to happen.

We would like to look at this remote assistance because this is not making sense to us. Is there a problem with missing historical data?

If so, there must be some connectivity issue on your side. This is not a server-side issue.

The Message Log does not help us in this case because we do not know where to look in the log.

I was able to solve it late last night by switching to a previous Chartbook file I had saved. Have no idea what could have happened but just had to redo all the thingsI had not saved since my last back up and it is running but still always getting frozen every since in a while but that could be my system.

I am going to try to move to Teton. But I asked Tradovate and they don’t support it. So might have to look to switch to like Stage 5. Or try to get an account directly with Dorman but I don’t know if that’s possible for a small retail trader.

Historical data gets filled in once I do a disconnect and reconnect. I'm thinking the lines below are the relevant information from the log file. When the below message occurred, updates to historical data stopped. There were many instances yesterday of the excessive logging of connection requests. Today very few connection requests.

Today after disconnecting and reconnecting again, historical data is updating without all the reconnects showing last night.

It is still not completely clear what is happening in your case but there must have been some connectivity issue which is the cause of this.

There is no issue with the version you are running, and there are no issues with our data servers. Everything is functioning well and normally.

Since post #12 disconnect/reconnect, I have not had any issues, stayed on the same SC version and have not changed anything. Both instances are working as of now.

Support, this may be the issue. Both of my instances were on the same UDP ports, listening ports and historical data ports. Because the UDP ports were the same, a windows exception was generated for the second instance. My setup has been like this for 3+ years with no noticeable issues so I overlooked this possibility.

Per the following instructions, I have updated port settings for Instance 2 to be different than Instance 1.

Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart

Instance 1 (default settings):
UDP Port: 22903
Listening port: 11099
Historical data port: 11098

Instance 2 (modified settings):
UDP Port: 22902
Listening port: 11095
Historical data port: 11094

If you have different port recommendations, please let me know.
