On the 480 min. chart I cannot go back more than 5 weeks (until June 28 2021), regardless of how many days to load I set it to and which symbol I am looking at.
Other timeframe intraday charts go back more.
See attached.

There are a few possibilities. But, the first thing to be aware of is that the historical data from CQG is limited, so that may be the primary issue you are dealing with.

The one item to look into is whether you have that chart as a Continuous Contract or not. It may be that you are not getting data further back due to the contract start date (which is right around that time for Copper). Refer to the information here:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts

In order to ensure that you have the best data feed and the longest history, we really recommend you use the Denali Exchange Data Feed for your data. Refer to the information here:

I am using the continuous contracts.
I did try Denali and it wasn't good, I really don't understand what SC has against CQG.
Why would I have more history on other intraday charts (e.g. 15min) than on the 480 min chart? that doesn't make any sense, they are all created from the same data aren't they?

Are you using the same options for the Continuous Charts for all your charts? We see that the one in the image is Back-Adjusted. It's possible that the Daily data is missing and therefore the back-adjustment could not take place. Try changing it to one of the non-back-adjusted options to see if you get the additional data.

You cannot create continuous futures contract charts with CQG data. You need to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

We will not answer any further questions about CQG data. We do not support it at all.

I did try Denali and it wasn't good
What was the issue and you may not have even been using the Denali data feed when you thought you were.

I really don't understand what SC has against CQG.
Your post here simply confirms why there are problems and limitations.

it seems strange you are blocking historical data and don't let me choose a data provider other than your to be able to use continuous contracts, very strange
And yes, I am sure I was usin Denali last month, i have confirmed it with John from your team and had the [M] near the symbols.

Yes the data is from the same underlying data file. For why there would be a difference between charts, refer to:
Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Downloading/Viewing More Historical Intraday Data

CQG does not provide data for expired futures contracts. You cannot do continuous futures contract charts with CQG.

Well, I just verified this with another SC user, which uses the same CQG subscription from AMP and she DOES have all the historical data in continuous contracts.

Attached an example she sent for for /ES 30min continuous chart going back 1,000 days.

Please let me know how come she can see it and I cannot?

If she has been connected to their data for the past 1000 days and getting the data in real-time over that period, then she would have the data.

The situation we are referring to is when you do not have the data and you want to get the historical data into the chart.
