I have noticed something weird over the last few weeks and finally Friday 4 June was the last straw.
*******
1. I entered a short, it turned against me. P/L was showing RED.
2. I clicked flatten. My DPL showed GREEN at 25 ticks (CLE). I thought maybe I clicked BUY instead of sell and thought it was a blessing in disguise. BUT why would my P/L show red...I look at my video recording and it showed I DID click SELL not buy...
3. Made a few more trades LONGS, got stopped out a bit but ended off with +65 GREEN on my DPL.
4. I check my balance I am LESS than I was at open 450 USD down.
5. I opened Qauntower (which I'd prefer not to use) and it confirmed I was down 450.
6. I opened an older version of Sierra 2268 on my laptop and it said DPL was +40. Sceenshot (Laptop2268.jpg).
7. I clicked DATA > REFRESH DATA FROM TRADE SERVICE and both still showed the same. +40 and +65 but both trade logs -45.

See attached screenshot (Tradelog.jpg)
*******
Earlier in the week another odd thing happened
*******
1. I entered a trade. IMMEDIATELY DPL which showed WHITE ZERO goes to -12 ticks.
2. My trade I entered was still active.
3. Balance showed that somehow ANOTHER trade was entered and exited and YES I was down 120 USD, yet my trade was still open.
4. I closed the ONLY trade I actually entered for a profit and net +6 on DPL. DPL Matched Trade log.
5. Where did the initial -12 come from? I didn't close anything.

See attached screen shot (A.jpg) where my positions showed a trade opening and closing IMMEDIATELY - I did NOT do this.
*******
Again on Friday SC entered two MORE IMMEDIATE open / close trades - while my actual trades were STILL open.
*******
Earlier in the week I had the similar again
DPL showed +30. I closed a LONG (P/L showed +25 so current trade was profit). When it hit target and trade closed I was suddenly -75 RED DPL. Somehow I made it back to end with a net profit for the day.
*******
I haven't a clue what is to blame. I have spoken to 3 other traders in my group who use Sierra Charts and they say they have ALL had similar yet the problem "went away" on it's own.

I always try to run the LATEST versions - currently on 2273.

I am using SC - CQG - AMP, so are my friends. One says he doesn't care what DPL shows as long as AMP is accurate. Well in my case AMP is and isn't, or SC is and isn't. I don't know.

- It's almost as if Sierra is showing prices for ONE contract but executing orders on another contract? I used CBV.
- I don't understand why I click BUY / SELL ONCE and suddenly I am -12 on DPL yet my one and only trade is still active.

I told AMP on Friday I want to use Denali and how I should go about it they were rude and abrupt in their response. It's as if there is some sort of animosity between SC and AMP? Needless to say I need help moving to Denali / AMP. I activated DENALI 46 USD option but it doesn't show any DOM BIDs / ASKS. I changed to 56 USD option and the same. What am I doing wrong?

All I need is CLE with BID / ASK info

My data WAS set to SC DATA. My usage has expired yesterday but don't want to buy again unless until I can get some answers or hints at what could be wrong. I really DO want to keep using SC but not sure where the blame lies for the costly bugs. I am hoping a move to Denali will solve this.

The Denali data feed will not have any impact upon this. Just go through the page link above it explains what to do. But you will have problems when using CQG order routing because there is not a guarantee of complete order fill history and the position quantity is not stored with each fill.

When you change to a service package with the Denali data feed, it is necessary to also activate the exchange fee. So you need to activate an exchange fee with market depth. Instructions:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges*

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have cancelled all "exchange" services from amp. So I doubt I am with CQG order routing?

To get basic DOM info do I need to activate "MBO"?

If you have just cancelled exchange services with AMP, then you should still be using CQG for your order routing.

In order to get the basic Market Depth information, you do not need the MBO data. The MBO gives you the individual orders that make up the sum of the Market Depth that you will see when looking at the basic Market Depth data.

For more information on the MBO data, refer to the following:

Thanks John, so just to confirm Package 11 (46USD) should be sufficient? Please bare with me.

1. I pay and activate P11
2. Change DATA / Trade Service Settings to SC DATA

I don't have to make any other changes for routing etc in order to trade?

I have just activated and paid for another month however I noticed the dom is not giving me more info. See attached image. (Getting.png)

What I expected is image Expected.jpg.

I also noticed on my second instance I can't select my live account it just keeps showing SIM accounts. Whereas clicking Trade - > Trade Simulation Mode on my first instance correctly disables / enables SIM mode. This is a fresh install.

I also tried executing a quick test trade on my LIVE account, as soon as the trade starts it switches over to SIM. Trade log says NO ACCOUNT SPECIFIED. So I am not sure as the DOM does have my live account selected.

"Trade Sim Mode has been enabled. Enabled because Service does not support trading". So I am not sure how to still use CQG or what ever for the routing. All I know is AMP is my broker and I want to use Sierra.

Is there anything else I need to configure?

Sorry, but you have us a bit confused. If you are going to use the CQG data, then you would NOT use Package 11, you would need to change to Package 5 and deactivate any exchanges you have active.

If you are going to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed, then just leave the data setup as it is. Right now you are setup to get the NYMEX Top-of-Book data from us. If you want to add additional exchanges, then you would do so from here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed

I also tried executing a quick test trade on my LIVE account, as soon as the trade starts it switches over to SIM. Trade log says NO ACCOUNT SPECIFIED. So I am not sure as the DOM does have my live account selected.

This is because you have set your Service selection to SC Data - All Services. Since you are setup to trade through CQG, you will still want to have your Current Selected Service set to CQG, as this tells the system that is where your trading account is. To setup to trade through CQG, follow these Setup Instructions:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

When you are done with the above, you just need to open your Chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service in order to change your symbols to the CQG symbols.

-------------------

As to the issue with the second instance and trading, it is normal for the second instance to not be in Simulation Mode, but then be sending the information to the primary instance which is in Simulation mode. That is not an issue.

When you are in live trading, if you want to trade from both, then both instances would need to not be in Simulation mode.

I am confused too ;). I couldn't care less about CQG. I want to use Denali and have AMP as my broker. If AMP is my broker am I FORCED to use CQG routing? How do I setup using Sierra - Denali - AMP. I assume CQG is just a 3rd party provider and not part of AMP. If I can get away from CQG and still use AMP, then please advise how.

Additionally any advice on my post about the DOM missing bids / asks. I posted two screenshots.

With AMP the only option for trading with Sierra Chart is to use CQG for the Order Routing. AMP used to offer the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service, but they stopped that back around February.

So, for now, at least, you are kind of stuck with CQG.

We are still working on our Direct CME order routing, which we hope AMP will support. For status and information on this, refer to this post:

Thanks John

1. a) Please confirm I want to use SC, with Denali for the data and CQG for trade routing - is this possible?
b) If I can do a) then how would I go about setting it up?

IF I can do #1 then please answer the next question.

2. Post #5 mentions the DOM. Can you explain how to get the Denali feed to show me what CQG was showing me.

CQG - Expected.jpg

With AMP - I signed up for "Sierra - Denali - CQG Routing only" and on Sierra I changed Data Trade Service Settings to > CQG WEB. I put in the details I received from AMP. My charts show a [M] in them so I assume thats Denali with CQG Routing? If so please see Question #2.

1. a) Yes, this is possible and is the preferred setup from our perspective.

1. b) You have already set it up. You told AMP that you just want CQG for order routing and you have your Sierra Chart software setup correctly (from what you have stated), so there is nothing more you need to do.

2. The images are not attached for some reason. But we are assuming that you are referring to Market Depth data on the DOM. The reason you are not getting any Market Depth data is because you have not signed up for an exchange through the Denali Exchange Data Feed that supports the Market Depth. Right now you only have the NYMEX Top-of-Book for NonProfessionals exchange activated. So you will only get the Best Bid and Ask in the DOM. If you want the Market Depth, you will need to activate an exchange that has the Market Depth in it, such as the NYMEX with Market Depth for NonProfessionals. You can change your exchange selections here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed

Just keep in mind that when you add an exchange, you will pay the full amount for the remainder of the month in which it is activated. And when you deactivate an exchange, you are really just setting it to not renew for the next month.

----------

When you see the [M] after the symbol, that tells you that you are getting the data from us.

Thanks

1. Do I need "NYMEX non-professional top-of-book" still activated or can I just activate "NYMEX with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts".
2. I have enabled the Market Depth option and all looks good. Did a quick live test trade too. I also noticed that version 2273 has rolled back to 2270 when I did an update earlier today. Here's hoping for more stability...

1. You will want to "deactivate" the NYMEX Top-of-Book and then "Activate" the NYMEX with Market Depth for NonProfessional Trading Accounts.

2. The "rollback" would have been caused by first updating to the "Pre-Release" (v 2273) and then updating again to the "Release" (v 2270). It's not a problem, you will be fine.
