I have sierra chart connected to single AMP trading account with Denali data Feed and CQG trade routing.
Can I trade live simultaneously from multiple instances on same computer? And if so, is their limitations to how many instances can trade live simultaneously?
I want to have one instance for each instrument.

The only issue with this is the data. If you use the "File >> New Instance" option, then there is no issue at all. You can open as many of those instances as you want and trade from each of them.

If you are wanting to have separate installations, then you would be limited to 2 total installations on the same computer in which you can receive the real-time data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed. You can then use multiple "New Instance" options to create multiple instances within the 2 installations.

Refer to the following for more information on multiple connections to the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Connections

And then refer to the following regarding File >> New Instance:

And finally, you will find information on multiple installations for Sierra Chart here:

Thanks John for prompt response. I am using the "File >> New Instance" option to open 4 sub instances. In all sub-instances "Enable DTC Protocol Server" is set to NO by default.

In this case is it safe to trade live from all 5 instances (including main) or I need to adjust any settings?

You are fine to trade from the sub-instances, just make sure you turn off Trade Simulation Mode and you ensure you have the correct Trade Account Selected. Refer to the following:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

Also refer to this setting:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Select Non-Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in SubInstances (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General)

In regarding to the above post:

I am trying to connect to 3 different Data/Service Settings in order to send orders to 2 separate FCMs with 2 separate Rithmic Data routing plus a 3rd via Gain capital.
I was able to install 3 SC in 3 different folders.
Although I was able to open all 3 separate instances of SC, I couldn't receive live data to the 3rd instance > I found this post John, and I now see that I am limited to
max 2 separate SC instances.

How can I achieve connecting to 3 (or more) FCM's/Accounts if I am limited to max 2 SC instances.

I do understand that I could use FILE>>New Instance for that would be for different instruments/Accounts but for the same Data/Service Settings.

Please advise,
Thank you very much.

The exchange rules are that you can only have 2 connections to the same computer simultaneously. This is not a limitation of the Sierra Chart software itself, as you can have and run 3 instances of Sierra Chart. But, as far as the data is concerned, if you want to have 3 connections on one system, you would need to have 2 different Sierra Chart accounts, one for 2 installations and one for the one other installation.

Or, another option would be to have a separate computer for one installation. You can then pay for the exchange a second time and get the data to two different computers with two installations each.

We know this is a bit crazy, but these are the rules that we have to live by.

Thank you John,

So to be clear:

1. If I am trading several different instruments on the same account/FCM Data/Service, then I could potentially run 1 Installation of SC and create sub-instances FILE >> New Instance (without any limits, as long as instruments are different for the same account), correct?

2. If I would like to achieve a connection to 3 separate Data/Services routing then I would need to run 2 SC instances on 1 system and Run the 3rd instance on a second/separate system (I am already paying for data feeds for the 3rd account, so just need another system), correct?

3. If I would like to run dozens of accounts in the future (as a potential CTA, not at this time) then how can dozens of accounts be connected under the same FCM/Different accounts? What would be the best way to execute on multi accounts and not a CPO/pool operator?

Thank you.

1. Correct.

2. You have the setup correct, but your account is not currently setup to have the data feed to two separate computers. To do this, you need to have the Number of Systems set to 2 Systems for the Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the following:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously

3.
then how can dozens of accounts be connected under the same FCM/Different accounts?
Your broker would set this up. The accounts would be set up under the same logged in Trading service username. You choose the accounts using this method:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

2. You should not have to use another system for this. So you want to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed in three separate instances of Sierra Chart the same system?

In response to Post#9 above,

ReL 2) I was able to connect 3 separate SC instances (installed in 3 different folders) and now connected to 3 separate Data/Trade Services on the same machine.

Thank you Gents!

Will the new instances work only on non-simulation mode?

Trade Simulation Mode can be enabled in any Sierra Chart installed instance or a sub instance.

I have a the standard level 5 Sierra account. Do I need the Denali package to run the the new instance feature? My account is not loading the new instance window. It's failing to connect to the ports.

All service packages support new instances. So the new instance is starting, but it fails to connect to the main instance? First make sure that you have updated to the current version of Sierra Chart and if you still have trouble follow the below instructions.

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Reconnect to the data feed:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

After about 30 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog

We will then determine what the problem is.
