How can I increase the chart loading speed for a new symbol when using an associated watch list? Using interactivebrokers and their data. Have already done the following to help increase loading speed. - Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download Limit = 2 - Intraday Data Storage Time Unit = 1 Minutet - Days to Load = 5 Even with these changes it takes 5 seconds for the chart to load for a new symbol. In contrast, Interactivebrokers TWS platform loads charts almost instantaneously. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

The first thing to do is to re-download the data to make sure those specifications are actually applying to the data in the chart data file: Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Hi. I sent my log analysis. My charts were up and running all loaded fine, but then a red box popped up in the middle of the session and I think said "product not recognized". Then it finally reconnected, but there was gap in my data or price action. Like I'm missing price data on my chart, looks like a gap. I tried to redownload the data, but it never downloaded. I waited at least 3 to 5 minutes. I restarted the platform still the same. Then I restarted the computer it finally worked, but after 3 minutes or so. I use IBKR's API with SC. I'm wondering if this is a broker issue or maybe just a slow connection issue. |

Can you tell us what symbol this is occurring with? It definitely sounds like an Internet connectivity issue assuming data for the symbol is coming from the Denali Exchange Data Feed. The symbol is M2K-202203-GLOBEX-USD. It's the converted M2K symbol for IBKR. Yes, I use Denali. Thanks. |

It definitely sounds like you are having a connectivity issue. For now set this setting to 10 Seconds: Data/Trade Service Settings: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings) And then: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Fully re-download the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >>Delete All Data and Download". After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog We will then determine what the problem is. Hi. I just the message log through the "Send for Analysis" option. I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I followed the instructions. However, after re-downloading the data, I wasn't sure if you wanted me to wait for the data to fully download, wait a minute and then share the message log. I ended up waiting 10 minutes for the data to download. I decided to restart the process and share the log 1 minute after selecting re-downloading data. For good measure, the download just completed so I will also send a second message log a minute after the full download. Just sent it. Time stamp about 8:56AM CST. Message reads, "2nd Message Log after market data fully downloaded, + 1 minute." |

If the historical data download eventually completed, and you are not missing data, then we do not need to look at the Message Log.
