I am Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) trading through Infinity Futures/Transact Data. I rely on secure connectivity to execute trades for my clients ans Transact/Sierra Relationship continues to deteriorate over the years. There had been persistent daily connectivity issues this past week...connect/disconnect/connect/disconnect/...etc. I realize Sierra Chart is pushing customers to their Denali Data Feed and steering away from Broker data streams....But frankly I believe these issues are being forceably created to the frustration and detriment of all Sierra Chart customers.

John, When can Transact Data users expect a proper fix to these connectivity issues?

Sincerely,
Frustrated Sierra Chart Customer

We really would recommend that you diversify and begin to utilize other clearing firms in addition.

When you say you believe the issues are being forcefully created. By whom? Certainly not us. How would we go about doing that? So somehow we are employing some technique to cause the data feed to stop and to lag.

Even though we don't prefer Interactive Brokers or CQG, users do not report problems with those with lagging data or similar problems. We always do our very best with every service to ensure the integration is efficient and bug free, and properly done.

A lot of work went into the recent integration to transact to the websocket services. And those underwent a lot of careful testing and revisions, especially on the trading side to make sure they work properly.

And transact has provided us two performance improvements in the last couple of weeks to us to implement with their feed. One is done and released another one we hope to have out tomorrow. So they recognize the problem and we are implementing what they are requesting of us.

In the end, you just need to take control of your own business and begin to work with additional firms.

Hi, I'm infinity customer/transact dara, from this past week I have this kind of issues, lag of data, disconnections, incorrect graphs ecc. The last prerelease 2058 is a little better. Yesterday was ok.Today there were problems (lag of data and incorrect graphs) during the volatility explosion at 10:00 am New York time and lasted about 30 minutes.

Try prerelease version 2061. It has implemented the latest performance improvement made by Transact.

We also suggested another one to them. So we are waiting for them to make that available. They said they would.

I have a .png image that I sent time ago to infinity / transaction support. I'll try to explain this problem and attach the image in this message.
The problem was very visible in version 2056 and previous. During 9:30 am New York time, (but even at 8:30) when the volumes increase, the time frame bars no longer follow the price, when the next bar should form at 1 min or 5 min, it does not form, so in order to see how the price changes is moved, and to see the bar, I have to delete and download the data. What you see are fragmented bars. I must say that the 2058 version has improved the situation. In 3 days, I had this kind of problem yesterday at 10:00 am new york, during the volatility of the fed rate cut, the rest of the time was ok, no disconnections or other issues.

Found a data feed issue with QuoteBoard and Transact feed in prerelease version 2061.

OPEN, HIGH and LOW data is incorrect when, during middle of session, QuoteBoard is opened, or data feed is disconnected and reconnected.

Could you check and advise?

Thanks.

In regards to post #10 we recommend using the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

In regards to post #11 Transact is not providing the open, high, low values with the more compact message format which is used in newer versions.

Does this mean that in the newer versions with Transact, the QuoteBoard is no longer useful since the underlying data is not as robust by design?

I was looking to set up an account with Transact Securities for order execution but continue to use Sierra for charts and Denali for data.
The thread above mentioned some possible issues with data but are there problems with execution?

Is Sierra continuin to support using them? I see they are not on the page with preferred brokers.

We just have to rely upon user feedback in regards to any execution issues if any. We do have access to the Transact test environment and in testing we do not notice any problems last time testing was done.

Yes Sierra Chart does support Transact.
