Greetings,

maybe its not clear what i ment, so i try to explain:

I have a problem with finding my alerts due to MANY small chart windows on MANY monitors. I study my charts myself and mark interesting price levels with horizontal lines.
Because i use for my purpose several instances of SC, checking the Alert window for alerts is the WORST!!! way to find out what alert got trickered. Its too inconvinient and time consuming to do it again and again and again. The BEST!!! way to do it would be to have a changing background color once the price in a chart does reach/cross a horizontal line. It hits right the eyes.

I just dont know if this is possible at all and if so how to do it. Pls give me some advice here.

Thx

Hi, check this links:
Color Background Based on Alert Condition
line is only value

put this into the alert tab for example =(C>7560) where change 7560 to value which you need

+
If you want to see the value, use:
Horizontal lines (as SubGraph, not tool from menu)
Horizontal Lines

If you want to unify the charts into one alert window, you must use the price overlay study.
Study/Price Overlay Study

Another option is Summary window

Thank you...Ackin,

didnt know that horizontal lines exist as Studies...this should work well with the Background Color change based on Alert condition.

BUT!!!

I really would also like to be able to adjust the horizontal lines like you can do with the horizontal line drawing tool; Drag&Drop. So you can easily adjust them.
Going through the study settings EVERY time is suboptimal.

I guess its not possible though.
Drag&Drop is probably a Drawing Tool feature only.

Thx
PS: Some official confirmation would be appreciated

Drag&Drop is probably a Drawing Tool feature only.
Added new element without settings it and have automaticlly alert...I think that "no"... each new element has a new ID...
Whether exist you can use UDID[#].A#

look at this:

The Chart Drawings Window shows the Horizontal Line ID is "-29". The alert sound of the Horizontal Line is alert 1. So according to your last post (as I understand it), UDID[-29].A[1]=1 should color the background if the alarm gets triggered, right?

Because the Alert Messager Window prints SYNTAX error. The background coloring doesnt change as well.

No... :)

Look at attached picture (line ID.png) .... and you can add other conditions with next elements, for example range (line ID range.png)

But that line must exist (before) to know its ID. If you don't know - you have nothing to refer to. That's what I wrote above.

The second option is to alert to value from Y-axis, see my first answer in this thread.

The third is a summary window and tracking only selected values.

Perhaps it helped you.
