I have data but all my chart screens are black. Not sure what the problem is since it is set to roll over the contract months automatically. Just bought sierra charts

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:

Fully re-download the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >>Delete All Data and Download".

After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

My chart screens are all still black. I am trying to view the e-mini and crude oil. My DOM'S are not moving. I have data with CTS, what are the symbol names for s&p 500 mini and crude oil for CTS.

Hello!

Unfortunately (at least apparently) I'm having the same issue...

Data/Trade Service Settings is set to SC Data - All Services [data]

I tried to download an intraday chart for DAX future.

In the bottom left corner of my screen I see "DYU20 1 Min #1", highlighted in blue color.
All the rest of the screen is black.

One thing we see is your Sierra Chart account is expired. If this is a new symbol you are charting, you need an active account access the data.

Follow these instructions to add usage time to your Sierra Chart account:

1. Select "Help >> Add Usage Credit" on the Sierra Chart software menu.

You can also go to this page in your browser:

Login with your Sierra Chart Account Name and Password.

2. Choose the particular Service Package that you want to automatically renew and press the "Update" button.

One thing we see is your Sierra Chart account is expired.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

As a matter of fact, my account expired long time ago.

I wanted to restart using Sierra, for the time being just to study the ACSIL language (no real trading, just simulated and backtest of strategies on several underlyings) and one of your colleagues (I suppose) granted me a new trial period. So I was assuming this trial period was alreadt started, but maybe I was wrong.

Please let me know what to do in order to start the new trial.

Yes we are aware of that but the trial was removed due to the cost of support. We cannot provide support to trial accounts. Sierra Chart is very inexpensive.

Frankly speaking I found your reply somehow odd...

One day I receive a message saying that I was granted a trial period and the day after you tell me that:
"the trial was removed due to the cost of support. We cannot provide support to trial accounts. Sierra Chart is very inexpensive".

If you change your mind and don't even bother to tell me, I think you are not doing a good service to your customers, and neither to you.

I was not aware of that and I tried many times to achieve something, with no avail, and eventually I decided to write on the board.

So you yourselves were the origin of my need for support.

However, let's put aside the above.

I funded the account and activated Package 5, but the situation is only partially solved.

If I open an historical chart, apparently for any kind of symbols I can get charts with daily bars.

However, if I try to load intraday data, I get different results:

- for a simbol like EURUSD I can load any kind of intraday data, from tick to minutes.

- for a simbol like DAX future, or a NYSE stock, when I open intraday charts a completely black chart pops up, and I cannot do anything to improve the situation.

Please let me know.

If you change your mind and don't even bother to tell me, I think you are not doing a good service to your customers, and neither to you.
You do get a notification message about this when you start Sierra Chart that is running in free mode and features are restricted.

This is an unusual condition.

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

After that re-download the data in the chart:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

Let us know if the problem is now resolved.

Unfortunately the situation is unchanged.

When I updated the Symbol settings apparently nothing happened in that popup window. Just a couple of seconds with the button "Update from server" disabled.
And a strange thing: the button with OK is located at the bottom of the popup window but so down that I cannot read it. I can barely see the upper edge of the button, however this was enough to click it.
And there is no scroll bar at the right edge of the popup window and neither can I scroll down using the mouse or the touchpad to improve the situation...

Here below the log of what happened just now when I followed your instructions.

The EURUSD chart, as well the daily chart for DAX reloaded successfully.
The intraday chart for DAX and STNG didn't.
