Dear support,

I get alot disconnection during the day for the last couple fo weeks. I think this part of the log is omportant for you. Can you help me out?

We believe this is due to a problem with network connectivity some users are experiencing to some of our servers. We are not sure where the problem is.

We are working on setting up another server in another data center. Until then, select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> SC Server Settings. Uncheck Always Use Port 443 for Real-Time Data.

Also update to prerelease 1450 with Help >> Download Prerelease.

In the newer version, every time there is a new connection, it will always definitely switch to the next server which might not happen in earlier releases depending upon historical data downloads which are also being done.

Is your first post still relevant, or just install the latest pre release (1451) is enough?

edit: just looked at this setting, but it was always unchecked and never been touched or seen by me. Should i leave it like this?

Does that mean that this is on my end or on your end? I never have had this problem and no change in connections/modems or system or whatsoever.

I'm now on version 1451 pre release and have unchecked; Always Use Port 443 for Real-Time Data.

Our best analysis at this time, is that there is some Internet service/Internet backbone operator being used in the connection to our servers which is corrupting the data.

We are not aware of anyone having any trouble with real-time data like you are. We do have a few reports of historical data problems and we are going to try to work around that by encrypting the data which may work around some kind of firewall algorithm being employed which is causing the trouble.

We are also setting up another data server in a new data center in a different geographical location.

The relevant information begins at post #12.

They solved it by disabling hardware offloading options on the router and doing a firmware update.

You may need to do the same thing.

Hardware offload disabling is not available in my technicolour modem.

I can't see why i have to change settings in my modem if it has worked before without any disconnections.

I've now got 1452 and still have the disconnection problem.

There is some network operator somewhere between your location and the server where the problem is occurring. What exactly the issue is, we do not know. We have made an inquiry about it with the data center where our server is located and they do not know what to say about this.

We fully expect this will be resolved next week, with our new server in a different data center.

Is there any date on this yet? This morning (Paris time) it happened a couple of times the disconnection.

Unreliable to trade, especially when low volume, you don't know if it is moving or disconnected.

First, this is going to be some sort of connectivity problem between your system and our servers. So it is not a problem with our server itself. We need to make that clear.

We are working on setting up another server in another data center primarily for other reasons. We expect this will be complete by Thursday or Friday. It is quite a substantial effort to accomplish that.

FWIW: when connection lost i disconnect en connect and it connects again to the server.

Our new server is now set up. You will need to restart Sierra Chart if it is running to ensure that Sierra Chart will have it as one of the choices for connection.

Can you also tell us how you have Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Use Data Feed 2 set. If this is set to Yes/True, then you still would be using the old server for now.

Good to hear that the new server is up and running.

I was not able to monitor the connection today, but leave it on for a couple of hours and see what the log will print.

Use datafeed 2 was always set to FALSE and has never changed.

I was wondering if you can tell if i'm connected to the new dataserver? were is it located, in Europe?
