when i close out a live trade, some pending orders (SL or TP) do not cancel out. broker says I am flat but on-chart orders have trouble cancelling in Sierra unless I close the program and reopen it (then all is fine). broker asked me to contact you about it.

i receive this error:

GainCapital FIX Trading: Received a Reject <3> message. Reference Message Type = H. Text = Internal error | 2016-02-18 10:33:34 *

This is the relevant message:

GainCapital FIX Trading: Received a Reject <3> message. Reference Message Type = H. Text = Internal error | 2016-02-18 10:33:34 *

This is an error from the OEC system.

Also you just need to select Trade >>Refresh Trade Data from Service:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeMenu.html

If you want us to contact OEC about this, we need to get the FIX log that contains this error. Refer to this page for instructions:

This is not the correct file because it does not contain the text "Internal error". Look at the prior one and see if you can find that text. We need the one that contains this text.

none of the FIX logs contain this text.

to create these logs, i disconnected to OEC and then reconnected, then I believe the logs were generated. do they include previously closed trades?

i will search for the error and send you the logs next time i trade.

No they will not include previous order activity if FIX logging was not enabled at that time.

I also use Gain/OEC and have been seeing this for the past 2 weeks. Upgraded to 1371 today and will advise if it goes away. Any trade that is exited using the flatten button leaves one oco on the chart. I press 'cancel all' followed by 'refresh trade data' to make it go away.

Any open position that has a target or stop hit will clear both oco orders from the chart. It is only when hitting flatten that 1 oco hangs around.

I will send some FIX logs to support@ shortly.

It sounds like in the case of server-side OCO when one of the orders is canceled and then when Sierra Chart tries to cancel the other, the server gives an error because it has already been canceled.

The way that the server is handling this and also not providing an execution report indicating it has been canceled, is incorrect.

Letting you know we did receive a FIX log from one of you and we are now encountering this same error in some testing we are doing.

So we will contact OEC about the problem.

I noticed it happening just before their server crashed on 02/08/16.

OK we are going to let them know about this . This is a rather complicated problem and we have no idea what they will do. We do not expect a quick resolution to this.

It will take us some time to prepare the information to explain it properly to them.

To summarize the event,

When an OCO target or stop is hit, all resting orders disappear from the chart. No issues.

When pressing Flatten to exit a trade, the OCO target goes away. The OCO stop goes away after pressing 'Refresh Trade Data' without having to press 'Cancel' or 'Cancel All'.

I have not allowed price to revisit this resting order because I don't want to know what would happen. So I press cancel and refresh repeatedly to get rid of the order. This is a big distraction and an issue. TIA

i think that is my experience as well, i am not totally clear. but i have confirmed with my broker that once i close the trade one way or another, these 'phantom' orders on the chart are NOT live orders in the market. this makes sense since Refresh Trade Data brings new communication to the platform and clears them up. it is just a trading distraction at this point, not mission critical, but definitely annoying. thanks

This will be resolved by OEC. We just received this from them:

A fix will occur. It will go into our Developer server this week or next, and if testing is successful, it will go into SIM, then PROD (live).

We did examine the problem thoroughly and wrote up detailed information about it.

Can you give us the steps to reproduce the problem so we can test specifically for what you are experiencing.
