Using v1316, when Chart Windows are set to Always on Top, they sometimes cover up dialog boxes like Chart settings from adjacent chart windows which then cannot be seen or accessed, or worse, main SC dialog boxes, like Save All on Exit, and if this happens, nothing in SC can be accessed, SC cannot be closed or restarted, and even locks out all access to the rest of the system due to the stuck always on top chart window, blocking the Save All exit dialog box. The entire system must be rebooted, force closing SC in the process.

This is seen in a multiple monitor arrangement, when a temporary disconnect of one screen re-arranges all the windows incorrectly, with an SC chart window set as always on top covering everything else.

We are not going to spend any further time responding to this other than to say move the chart out of the way if it is covering something else. We tested this even when an always on top chart was covering the dialog prompting to save to Chartbooks when exiting from Sierra Chart.

We will not spend further time on this.

This question is puzzling to us unless you cannot move the chart and if you cannot, this is a system specific issue we have no control over.

Thank you for calling your users dumb, I'm sure we all appreciate that.

Yes, obviously the charts cannot be moved, the SC Save All dialog box needs to be answered before anything can be moved, and it cannot be access because all the charts are piled on top of it and set to Always on Top.

Can you make it so the SC dialog boxes show on top of charts set to Always on top? This would solve the issue.

The problem is, we tested this and we could get to the Save All dialog box even though a detached chart with Always on Top was covering it.

Possibly but the question is why. We have not heard of a problem like this before. Anyway, we will go ahead and do this only for the Save All dialog prompt.

Letting you know, we decided not to do anything in regards to the Save All prompt. It will remain as is.

If Always on Top for charts and spreadsheet windows is not working properly for you on your system, then do not use it.

If there has been some change in Sierra Chart which is causing the problem, which we do not see any evidence of, then we will look into it. But at this point this appears to be a system specific issue.

We do apologize for this, the statement has been removed and it was made in the sense of us thinking how can this possibly be based on our testing and the fact that we have not heard of anything like this before. So either the user did not move the window out of the way or it cannot be moved.

Anyway, we will have to let this go for now until we hear anything more from other users. There are certain issues, which indeed are system specific and are not within our control and this might be one of them.

We definitely do believe this is a system specific issue and the implementation of Windows on Top is not implemented properly on your system.

However, when exiting from Sierra Chart and the "Save All?" prompt is displayed, we made a change where that dialog box is not set to the topmost level and may therefore allow you to move the chart out of the way to get to it.

Test this on version 1323 and see if it makes any difference.
