Hello, Yesterday I got package 11 along with the NASDAQ data feed for $17 however today I tried to use Sierra Chart but as you can see the data is delayed for some reason? As you can see in the screenshot below, I have Dell and on Sierra Chart it's on the candle that is at 12:10 PM PST however it is actually 12:26 pm PST as you can see from my computer clock and if you look at Trading View it is showing the correct bar but SC is still on the 4th bar back. In the attachments is my chart and global session times and settings. I've also tried to change it to New York time but it still does the same thing. You can also see in the header of each window it says "Delayed" Also as another question, you can see my footprint on my footprint chart the values are very squished and I can only see it when I expand it to fill the whole screen but then 1 candle takes up the whole screen. Is there a way to make the values not so squished? Thanks for the help! |

I checked online and I saw that I need to add NQTV to the end of the ticker symbol so instead of DELL it needs to be DELL-NQTV. When I do this it doesn't say "delayed" anymore. Was this the issue? Also for the footprint charts I found and increased the "Volume at price multiplier" and now they aren't so squished. I just want to make sure there is nothing else that I missed on both of these issues?

Disregard when you see Delayed in the chart header. That would be just because the market is closed. If it actually is closed, which it is at this time. If the market is closed, when you are looking at a symbol without -NQTV, you should not see any delay when there is more than 15 minutes after the 4 PM US Eastern time close. Just make sure the session times and time zone settings are all correct: Time Zone Setting Chart Session Times And you should be fine. Regarding post #2, all of this is understood and fine and correct. Thanks for the reply. The screenshot was taken during market hours at 12:26 pm PST or 3:26 pm EST on Friday but it still says "delayed" at the top of the header bars and as you can see in the screenshot the sierra chart candle is about 3 candles behind the tradingview one. As far as the time zone settings I set them up properly as far as I can tell (see second screenshot) Why is it delayed then? As far as the number bars: Okay thanks. Will take a look more at those articles |

We are not sure why the data is not up-to-date at this time. That does not make sense. Connect or reconnect to the data feed with File >> Connect To Data Feed, or if connected select File >> Reconnect. Another thing to do is to go to that chart and select this command: Edit Menu: Edit >> Download Data from End of Chart Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. So you're saying I shouldn't need to add -NQTV to the end of symbols for it to be real time? It still doesn't seem to work and if I don't add it, the data is delayed. Here is a short video in the attachment showing you the issue, settings and things I've tried

Since you have just the NASDAQ TotalView exchange active, you do need to add the -NQTV suffix in order to get that data in real-time. So for Dell, you do need to enter the symbol as DELL-NQTV. If you just enter DELL, then this means that you want the data from our "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape", which you do not have active. Therefore, that data will be delayed. We apologize that this was not made obvious in the previous posts. Thanks for that info John. That makes sense. I have just subscribed to the "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape" as well. Now when I type in just the symbol such as "TSLA" it is no longer delayed and works. I have a question though. If you take a look at my screenshots below on the volume footprints, on the "TSLA-NQTV" (which is what I used to use) you can see for example on the second to last footprint, the delta values and for example the very last one of -1619. Now on the "TSLA" screenshot because I now have the "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape" you can see I have more data and volume and on that second to last bar at the bottom it shows -5652. On the third screenshot "TSLA_MBO" the values on all the candles are exactly the same as the one with just "TSLA". My question is: I thought that _MBO combined the NQTV and the US Equities consolidated tape data so I have the data from all the exchanges? So why would the TSLA and TSLA_MBO be the same if TSLA_MBO also includes the NQTV data? Which symbol should I use for the most accurate data on footprint charts? Thanks for the help! |

The _MBO symbols use the Price and Volume data from the U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape with the Market Depth from the NASDAQ TotalView. So the Bar data (and hence Numbers Bars study) will be exactly the same between the symbols that are just the ticker and the ticker with _MBO. That is, TSLA and TSLA_MBO are going to give the exact same bar data. So what you are seeing is correct. You can not say that the data from either exchange option is "more accurate". It depends on what you want to see and how you are trading. The NASDAQ TotalView is just the trades from the NASDAQ. The U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape is the consolidated trades from approximately 18 exchanges.
