Hi team Support,

I would like to switch the SC to be run on a new system/desktop.
What is the process to enable the new system?
Need trading + data enabled as usual.
I want to see market depth on the new machine only (which I do currently on my old machine) and don't want to pay double mkt data fees.

Regards,

Cyrus

There is nothing special to use Sierra Chart on a new machine. The only "trick" is that with the way you are setup, you can only get the real-time Denali data to one computer at a time. So if you are running Sierra Chart on both computers simultaneously, then one will get the real-time data and the other will get our delayed data, or no data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the following regarding this:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously

In terms of moving your Sierra Chart information from one computer to the other, refer to the information on the following page. It is up to you as to what method works best for you, so look through the options and pick one and follow those instructions.

I guess i can just close the SC on the old one, restart the SC on the new one and then start the old computer SC again.
Let me try that and get back with the outcome. If that works, we are all good. Just don't want to pay for data on 2 machines when I am using only 1 for the data.

If you do not want/need real-time data on the "old machine", then set "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" to "No".

Then select OK to close that window and then select "File >> Reconnect".

This will then prevent that installation from trying to get real-time data. If you are connected to a Sierra Chart service (i.e. "SC Data" or the "Trading Evaluator - Delayed") then you will get the delayed streaming data to that system.

This way it will not interfere with your "new machine" and you do not need to worry about which one started first.

Quick question, what depth does the price index = 100.0 correspond to?
Is it top of book bid or ask or last when looking at a bar?
Perhaps not the right section, but would really appreciate any help.
Could not find the info in ACSIL Interface Members - Historical Market Depth Data (c_ACSILDepthBars): TickIndexToPrice

We are not understanding this question.

If you are using ACSIL and you have a PriceTickIndex of 100, then you would use the "TickIndexToPrice()" function to convert that PriceTickIndex into the price.

You can do this by hand, but you need to know the tick size of the chart. The "TickIndexToPrice()" is going to get the Tick Size for you.

For instance, a PriceTickIndex of 100 for an ES chart which has a tick size of 0.25 would be a price of 25.00 (100 * 0.25).

bid ask prices look like -0.020 and -0.019 but the TickIndexToPrice() conversion gives me values like 87.000.
Tick size = 0.001 for the spread I am trading.
These are historical depth values, please confirm if depth price data is being stored. I see depth level volumes which dont change, so it seems that unless i record that historical data, I wont be able to access it.

Separately, I see mkt depth (When i open mkt depth window) on the new system when i use SC data [data] but not when i use Teton CME Routing [trading].
As you suggested I disallow support for sierra chart feeds on the old system now. Old system not connected any more.

If you are using a custom study, then this is not something we can help with. We do not give Programming Help.

In general, you do have to record the Market Depth data to have it on your system. Refer to the information in the top section of the following regarding this:
Replaying Charts: Replaying of Market Depth Data

There is no reason you would not see the Market Depth data when you are connected to Teton for the CME Group data. We wonder if you are not updating the symbols when you change between services. Keep in mind that the symbols that are used are different for every service. So if you are using ESH26-CME for "SC Data", then it would be ESH26_FUT_CME when you change to Teton.

When you select OK to close the "Data/Trade Service Settings" window and you have changed the service, then you are prompted to update the symbols. You should answer "Yes" to this. If you do not, or you open a different chartbook later that is not updated, then select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service".

If you continue to have an issue after you ensure you have the correct symbols, then refer to the following:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Troubleshooting Market Depth Data Not Displaying in Chart/Trade DOM Columns

Issue was that I did not load the symbol again after changing the data service. Sorted now, thank you!
