I’ve been at this for some time and need help setting up an alert condition on the Spreadsheet system for Trading study. My goal is to have it alert me on closed daily profit/loss (cell J45) when it is less than -500. From what I can learn, I tried these formulas and failing miserably: ID3 < -500, J45, 1 ID3.SG1 < -500, J45, 1 ID3.SG2@4 < -500, J45, 1 |

To alert you when the "Closed Daily Profit/Loss" (cell J45) is less than -500, use the following formula: =$J$45 < -500 We do not know what study is ID3 and what you are wanting to do with it. If you want to tie multiple conditions together, then you would use the AND() or OR() functions. Refer to the following for how to use these: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SpreadsheetFunctions.html#AND_Function For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thanks for the reply, John. Unfortunately, I'm not getting it to work. I attached a screenshot of the alert tab dialog box with the formula, sitting on top of the 'Spreadsheet system for Trading study', so no alarm sounds when j45 < -50 even when that condition is met since the value on the spreadsheet is -56 |

The Spreadsheet System for Trading and the Spreadsheet System/Alert both have capabilities for alerting within the spreadsheet itself. You do not need to use the "Alerts" tab of the settings window in order to do this. Find an unused formula column in your Spreadsheet System for Trading and enter the following in row 3 of that column: =$J$45 < -500 Then on the Settings and Inputs tab of the Settings window for that Spreadsheet System for Trading, find the "Column ? Alert" entry for the column where you entered this formula and select the Alert Sound you want to use for it. You will then get an alert sound when the "Closed Daily Profit/Loss" is less than -500. Refer to the following: Spreadsheet Systems, Alerts and Automated Trading: Column [K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V-Z] Alert If you want something visual, then you would want to add a "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" study and reference the subgraph that represents that column.
