Thanks for the reply, John. Unfortunately, I'm not getting it to work. I attached a screenshot of the alert tab dialog box with the formula, sitting on top of the 'Spreadsheet system for Trading study', so no alarm sounds when j45 < -50 even when that condition is met since the value on the spreadsheet is -56
