Second instance of SC message: Service Package does not....

Hello,

I've installed a second instance, copied files over according to instructions. I've also updated ports to not have a conflict, and created a new symbol but the destination instance is indicating that my Service Package does not support this functionality.

Additionally, in the source instance i'm getting messages that 'socket gracefully closed....'

I'm sure i've screwed up copying the config files, spinning my wheels tryna figure it out. Hoping it's something small.

Also.... can you confirm that my Recurring Services look ok according to my setup to trade CME futures as well as equities? I'm not sure I need the Denali separately if it's included in Package 11, is that correct?

Thank you!

First, make sure that your new instance has the correct setting for the Data folder location. This is in Global Settings >> General Settings. You may also want to enable the option for Always use 'Data' folder within main folder. Refer to the information at the following link and the section after it:
General Settings Window: Data Files Folder (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths)

We really need to know the exact message you are getting in terms of the service package not supporting the function, as it really does not make sense given that you are on Package 11. Just in case, make sure you are logging into both installations using the same Account Name.

Your recurring services are fine. And yes, you do need to have an exchange active for the Denali Exchange Data Feed. The Data Feed Fee is included with packages 10, 11, and 12, but you need to choose, and pay for, the specific exchanges for which you want the real-time data.

Great. Thanks for the additional info.

I've ensured the Data folder is correct for both Source and Destination instances. Additionally, Always use 'Data' folder within main folder is selected.

I closed both instances, restarted Source. Then, opened Destination using File >> New Instance (where before, I opened them individually from W10 File Manager).

It seems that historical data loaded in Destination, up to last night when I created the new instance and moved files over. But, I'm not getting realtime data. I will send the Message long for analysis.

I've sent the Message Log for Source instance as well. Still getting 'closing socket' messages in there.

You have us confused by the statement "I closed both instances, restarted Source. Then, opened Destination using File >> New Instance (where before, I opened them individually from W10 File Manager)."

It is VERY different if you are using File >> New Instance versus having Sierra Chart in two different installations on your system and starting them separately.

Let us know which situation you are trying to resolve first. If you just want a second instance using all the same settings and trade service from the main instance, then you would use File >> New Instance. Sierra Chart then takes care of creating the necessary folder and copying files it needs.

If you want to have two different installations in order to have different trading accounts, then you need to have Sierra Chart installed into 2 different folders on your system and you need to start each one on its own. In this case, you would have had to manually copy whatever files you wanted/needed to get the setup you desire and then make any changes to the setup depending on what needs to be different.

Let us know which situation you are trying to work on first, and we will tackle the issues associated with that situation and then move on from there.

Jeez.... sorry about that. My mistake.

I am indeed trying to run two separate installations with two different trading accounts. This is what I originally set up and attempted to run.

They are in two separate folders, with files from the original copied into the new according to instructions.

I have shut down both 'instances' and re-opened them independently. I've sent Message Log files from each.

Again, apologies for the confusion.

The only error we are seeing is the following in SierraChart02:
UDPListener (1508). Port 22904 | Error binding to UDP port: 22904. Windows error code 10048: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.

Unless you are specifically doing work with UDP, you can ignore this. But, if you want to resolve it, then in the SierraChart02 instance, go to Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings and change the entry for UDP Port to a value other than 22904.

Some other items of note for SierraChart01:
- The following indicates a problem with the study sst_volume_dots:
Error loading: D:\Documents\SierraChart01\Data\sst_volume_dots.dll. File not found or may be missing SCDLLName line.

- This instance has the Current Selected Service set to SC Data - All Services, but the symbols are for the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service. Open your Chartbooks in that instance and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service in order to change the symbols to the correct ones.

That helps a lot. I've got sierraChart01 install working again.

I'll work on getting the second installation connected next.

Thanks for the great support here!
