Hello, my 1st instance of SC is connected to IQFeed, the 2nd Instance is connected to my broker.
On the 2nd Instance I receive the chart data from the 1st Instance [R].

When I enter a new symbol in the 1st instance the data is visible at cyberspeed. If I enter a new symbol
in the second instance it takes at least 30 seconds until the data is loaded.

What can I do to make it faster. I need stable data after at least 5-10 seconds ?
Is there a chance to have only 1 instance running that receives data from IQfeed and can send orders to my broker ?

Is there an alternative to IQfeed available for Nasdaq, Nyse realtime data that works with SC ?

You cannot make it faster. You can consider using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed instead of IQ Feed which will not have this issue:

Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

We recommend using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed in your case. It also provides NASDAQ and NYSE real-time data.

Hello, I now have activated SC Feed with Nasdaq/Nyse.

Under Globel Settings Service I selected the broker, so that I can sent orders to the broker.

When I load a symbol there is no [M] behind the symbol and I think the data comes from my broker,
not from SC feed. What do I have to do to send orders to the broker and receive data from the feed
with one instance ?

What is Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service set to?

And what is the specific symbol you have opened a chart for?

It is set to my broker [trading] as decribed in the help.

"In the Service list box, select one of the supported Trading services (identified by [trading] at the end), to have the market data feed integrated with the Trading service you are using."

What I do not understand is the following:

Globel Setting -> Data/Trade Service Settings has only one "Service" - Field. I can either set it to my broker
or to SC Exchange Data. If I set it to SC Exchange Data I see the [M] but can not send orders to my broker. If
I set it to my broker I can sent orders but do not see the [M] e.g. AAPL. Allow Support fir Sierra Chart Data Feeds is checked.

Update the Symbol Settings as explained here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettingsSteps

If you still have a problem restart Sierra Chart. Only open a chart for AAPL and connect to Interactive Brokers and post a copy of the message log following these instructions:

I did the following:

Select Global Settings >> Symbol Settings on the menu. Service: Interactive Brokers
Press Update From Server button. The button will be momentarily disabled. -> Done
Wait for the button to reenable which indicates the updating of the symbol settings is complete. Normally the updating should be done in less than 5 seconds. However, this could take longer depending upon the speed of your Internet connection, how much data has to be downloaded and how many existing symbols there are. It should not take longer than 30 seconds unless you have a connectivity problem.
When the update is complete, press OK. -> Done
Reconnect to the data feed by selecting File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed. -> Done

Then File -> Find Symbol, Instance Interactive Brokers [This Instance], no [M] in the chart.

If I want to change the Symbol just by activating a chart and typing e.g. "/BRCM", no [M]
appers. Same is the case if I link a Quote Board to the chart and browse through the
lists. Some Symbols like DE, MSFT, EXPE seem to show show no chart at all.

According to the description at leat 100 symbols from NASDAQ/NYSE should be loadable.
Since I use a scanner it is necessary to have random symbols loaded. I can not contact you
for every symbol.

Am I the first user who uses this in this feed ?

No, you are not the first one using the data feed.

Once again:

If you still have a problem restart Sierra Chart. Only open a chart for AAPL and connect to Interactive Brokers and post a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#log

Once we identify what the problem is for one symbol, and resolve that, all the other symbols will work.

We see what the problem is. There was a problem activating the US Equities exchange on your account. We need to contact the vendor of record, Barchart about this.

Since I did not hear anything from you again I contacted Barchart by myself
and I have the written confirmation now that the feed is enabled.

Again, I opened a chart for TWTR now and the backfill is done via IB, not via your feed.

No [M] in the chart and I can see that the backfoll comes from IB. all settings as described
above by you.

I did send you a log file to support@sierrachart.com and feel like your Beta Tester now
(unfortunately unpaid).

This is what Barchart said:

This user did not complete the US Equities agreements correctly and upon review was marked in our database as a Pro, and hence the request to add US Equities @ non-pro rates was denied. The below is non-descriptive which is why they were rejected. He needs to specify his self-employment.

nyseOccupations: self employed
nyseEmployers: self employed
nysePositions: self employed
nyseFunctions: self employed

We apologize for the delay. If you would like a refund for the data feed let us know. Or we can give you some credit for the missed days.

We are going to privately send you to your email address a link to re-sign the agreement. We are doing this now.

Hello,

as I explained above. I already clarified it with them. TNo need to fill it out again.
The feed is enabled and they confirmed it, thei said:

You are confirmed for U.S. Equities realtime streaming.

Regards,

Barchart.com - Premier Technology, Market Data and Trading Solutions.

The problem is NOW, again with SC:

I opened a chart for TWTR now and the backfill is done via IB, not via your feed.

No [M] in the chart and I can see that the backfill comes from IB. all settings as described
above by you. I.e. I can not use the SC feed while sending orders to IB as promised above.

Is there a chance to solve this (you find a log file in your email) ?

There has been an inconsistency with what Barchart has told you and what they have told us.

We have resolved the problem. Restart Sierra Chart and you will now have access to US equities data through the Sierra Chart Data Feed.

When I enter a new symbol code in an active chart window via "/NAME" no [M] apperas.

When I browse trough my Quote Board (linked to a chart windows) with some NYSE and NASDAQ Symbols mixed,
sometimes there is an [M] and sometimes not.

So your symbol mapping seems to work sometimes and sometimes not:

SC feed (with mapping functioning):

Mapping TWTR to TWTR. Service code: equities.us | 2015-03-05 15:36:36
Intraday data recording state for symbol TWTR is set to download pending. | 2015-03-05 15:36:36
HD Request # 2 | Downloading Intraday chart data for TWTR to the file TWTR.scid. Service: equities.us | 2015-03-05 15:36:36
HD Request # 2 | Download start Date-Time: 2015-03-05 15:36:14.0 | 2015-03-05 15:36:36

IB Backfill (no mapping):

HD Request # 12 | Downloading Intraday chart data for BIG to the file BIG.scid. Service: ib | 2015-03-05 15:43:17
Compressing file: C:\Program Files\SierraChart\Data\BIG.scid. This may take a while. | 2015-03-05 15:43:17

The mapping should be working in all cases for a valid NASDAQ or NYSE symbol.

If not, the easiest way for us to determine the problem is for you to do the following:

-Restart Sierra Chart
-Open only one chart for a symbol that was not working previously.
- Connect to Interactive Brokers..

-Post a copy of the Message Log. It needs to be a complete log. You can also use the "Send For Analysis" button.

We do not normally like to recommend a Full Reset of symbol settings but we think this is what you need to do. Here is the procedure:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#FullResetSymbolSettingsSteps

You can also try performing a normal update first:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateChartSettingsSteps

We tested AIG with Interactive Brokers TWS and the mapping did work properly for us.

Hello,

5 Minute chart:
I have a 5 Min chart open set to "Days2Load" = 5.
For some symbols like AAPL or FB are only 2 days loaded with 5 minute date.
For other symbols the 5 days are loaded.

What is the reason for that ?

Tick chart:
Does the barchart feed has time stamps and are these time stamps used in SC ?

When I compare tick chart of the same symbol with different feeds (1 instance with barchart/1 instance with IQfeed) the candles structure
looks different. If there are time stamps used it should look the same.

Can you explain that or maybe there is another setting to be changed.

I would like to check the latency for the barchart feed. can you give
me the IP adress of theirs servers so that I can "ping" them ?

1. Refer to this documentation:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html#DownloadingViewingMoreHistoricalIntradayData

2. The Sierra Chart stock data feed does have timestamps. Possibly the time stamping is slightly different compared to IQ Feed. In any case, there is no settings to control this.

3. The servers are:
scdf1.sierracharts.com
scdf2.sierracharts.com

Hello,

how is the procedure if one wants to proceed with the SC feed
and if one wants to disable the feed (e.g. because of a holiday)?

Once disabled, is it necessary to fill out all forms again if it schould be enabled again later in the future.

Can it be enabled/disabled on a monthly basis ? Are there any deadlines ?

This is explained here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#UnderstandingCost

You can deactivate the data feed whenever you want but will remain active until the end of the month. You do not need to fill out the forms again.
