Data at session start/volatility display issues - long standing, only realizing this now.

Lately, the instant a 930 open session begins, the information display on the chart goes instantly delayed. Any time and sales data is wrong, any candle display is wrong. Missing time gaps, even with disconnect and reconnect.

Delete and download after a 930est session opens asks me if I want to delete and download from upward of MONTHs ago, yesterday** 4/16/2024 it asked me if I wanted to download from 4/18/2024(??)

There have been zero changes to my charting, I am on the current, or near current update. I have adequate space on computer for files.

Even if i have all the information from say 7am EST any of the Globex sessions, any normal 930EST open causes the issue.

Time and sales lags, a 1 minute candle chart only shows 1 single candle for upwards of 30minutes. The price is several minutes behind the market.

I am only realizing this now, its very likely been affecting the software for months.

What can I begin looking at to start seeing where this download and display issue may be. For reference, any data I had used was doing the same thing. If i look at any data on any other account through the particular data interface. It seems to be a compile/organize/ display(whatever the terminology may be) issue. I suppose there is always the chance i accidently changed something - SC just can't handle any normal volatility right when it bursts.

TLDR; any burst of opening volatility, any sort of normal volatility, primarily around the open causes chart displaying issue that sometimes takes an hour or more to resolve - zero issue in any overnight session or any session open prior to 930EST.

Thank you very much.

So that you are aware, your data is coming from Rithmic, not the Denali Exchange Data Feed.

It is for the reason explained below:

The reason you are not getting real-time data from the Denali Data Feed, and historical data from the Denali Data Feed in the case of when using an external Trading service (Rithmic, CQG, Interactive Brokers), from the CME Group of exchanges is that you activated the *Non-Professional* exchange fees. However, you have not verified in the last month that you have a live, funded, futures trading account, which the CME needs in order to allow you data at the lower priced fees.

Refer to the "Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges" section here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges

Rithmic paper trading or trading evaluator accounts are not considered a live funded futures trading account.

Refer to the following for instructions on how to connect once a month to your *live funded* trading account to qualify for the lower-priced exchange fees:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

If you do not have a funded trading account or one with a supported Trading service, then refer to this solution:
Easy Solution to CME Funded Trading Account Requirement

Consider the above solution to avoid this problem in the future.

Thank you for the prompt reply, much appreciated.

What might in theory be happening at the 930EST opens that would make sierra chart ask me if I want to delete and download from a date that hasn't even existed in time yet? Perhaps I can try to locate and rectify that issue first.

This would be the result of invalid timestamps in the intraday data and the data feed would be at fault for that.

Or perhaps the time zone is set incorrectly in the chart if the difference is less than 24 hours. But if that is the case it is going to be very obvious because all times would be affected.

Noted, thank you

A question to your timezone note: If I look at an 830CST session time which is obviously 930EST. Would you suggest making the timezones of a chartbook all the exact same if someone hasn't done so already and simply modifying the session start/end for the equivalent times. In other words is it pointless or detrimental to have a couple of referenced timezones in the same book even if its for organizational purpose?

To the original post regarding the issue of delay/missing information etc:
What additional things could I explore if hypothetically speaking I was connected to SC data as a standalone and this was happening?

Sincere thanks

It makes no difference. The decision on how to organize your charts for Time Zone is up to you.
