Price positioning on Marker Tool

I use the marker tool. I would like to put price to the right and at the bottom. When I try to do this under Global Settings, it makes a change there but when I use the tool, it stays on the bottom and to the left. I can change it manually in change properties once I draw it, but not on the default. What am I doing wrong?

You are modifying the Tool Configuration #5 for the Marker. Make sure the changes you make are saved by selecting the Save button towards the bottom.

The other thing is then to make sure that you are set to use TC5 when you are using the drawing. You need to select the tool first, then select the Tool >> Current Tool Configuration from the list. Then when you use the tool, it will match up with that configuration.

You can also create a Control Bar button that selects both the tool and configuration, such that if you want to have different configurations for different reasons for the same tool, you can change quickly between them. Refer to the following:

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I understand what I am supposed to be doing and I still cannot get it to work. The global setting is correct and saved. Then when I hit the button the right marker comes out, but instead of price being bottom and right, it comes out top and left. This means that the price bars cover up this when I use it at a price low, which is the point of it.

Again, I can change the position of price manually, but not on the configuration.

First thing - if you place a marker and then right-click on it and select Manage Chart Drawing, if you enable the Price Label and then select the Horizontal Align and/or Vertical Align and change between the various options - does the Price Label change its position relative to the marker as expected?

Yes. That is what I meant by manually. I right click, hit Chart Drawing Properties and when I change it from Left and Top to Right and Bottom it stays. I also have that alignment set as a global configuration on TC3. But when I try to insert it from the tool bar it gets inserted as Left and Top instead of Right and Bottom.

Then either TC3 is not actually configured correctly (you did not save the configuration out after setting it up), or you are not selecting TC3 when you are placing the marker.

Assuming TC3 is configured correctly, then select the Marker draw tool, then select the Current Tool Config and make sure you select "Config 3".

Let us know if you are still having an issue with this.

I am still having an issue with this. For the marker tool I set TC1 to be a square blue marker with price under and to the right. But even after saving it, when I hit the marker TC1, it comes out as a blue square but price is on top and to the left. The price position does not change on global settings. It is to the top and left for my TC2 which are for a red marker.

We will check on this. We will make sure all of the configuration variables are saved.
