Hi.
Please check the attached image.

I placed a pending order last night, 3rd of October, on my Sierra chart real account.

Volume on 2, opened (check image) just below the CVA high, stop loss just above the CVA high.
Two targets on the next two Point of control, below.

I open my laptop this morning and to my surprise, the targets and stop loss had disappeared, meaning I was losing about 500 dollars, because the stop loss hadn't been triggered.

I need your help here, something did not work correctly, and I need to know what it was, exactly.
Please get back to me asap.
Regards
Paulo

You can check the Trade >> Trade Service Log, but we doubt any information is in there since you state that you had exited Sierra Chart.

The other place to look is on your Trade >> Trade Activity Log and look at the orders for your Stop and see if it states why it may not have been placed.

But, in the end, the fastest way will be to ask your broker what occurred with the Stop order and why it was not sitting on the exchange as you expected it to be.

When you exited Sierra Chart had the parent order filled or not? If not, then the target and stop order would not have been working at the exchange since you are using CQG.

This is why we recommend using Teton order routing:

From our CQG documentation:
Server Managed Bracket Orders: No. Support has been removed as of version 1819 due to unexpected behavior with this order type on CQG. For Server Managed Bracket orders, it is necessary that you use the Teton Order Routing Service instead of CQG.

This is actually one of the strongest reasons why Sierra Chart recommends using the Teton Order Routing Service instead of CQG, if you are trading CME Group. When server-side bracket orders, are not supported, this makes order handling less safe.

Here is more information regarding Teton order routing:
Trouble-free and properly managed server-side bracket orders. This is a huge advantage as compared to many of the other supported Trading services. With many of the other supported Trading services, either server-side bracket orders are not supported or there are various issues with using them.

Properly managed server-side bracket orders are so important since it makes the order handling very safe and low latency. With some of the other supported Trading services, the bracket order management is on the client side with a much higher delay from when the parent order fills, to when the Target and Stop orders are transmitted. This can be for example 300 ms and higher, rather than below 1 millisecond when managed on the server as they are with this service.

Server managed bracket orders, also mean that when the market is moving fast, there is a greatly reduced possibility that the stop order will be rejected. If the Stop order were rejected, it would leave the position unprotected.

Server-side Bracket orders are always enabled with this service regardless of the Use Server Side Bracket Orders setting.
Another advantage of server-side managed OCO and Bracket orders is that if your installation of Sierra Chart loses Internet connectivity or is closed, these orders continue to be managed on the server regardless of this and will protect the Position that they are intended for.
If you are using CQG, OCO and Bracket orders are not managed properly with that service. And Bracket orders are not server-side. This is all substandard. CQG users need to move to the Teton Order Routing service for properly managed OCO and Bracket orders.

So basically CQG is not a reliable data feed? And Sierra does not provide Teton, yet! So what options do we have? Change broker and leave them an awful review? Take them to authorities?
Why is Sierra even providing it as an option then? What happens when a stop loss disappears and somebody loses thousands? Who is responsible?
