I have package 3 and am using only delayed data through SC -- All Services. My NQ futures data works fine but my ES futures data gives me an error when the latest data is being downloaded, in this case since 5/5/2022. It says server has encountered an error. What should I do?

Thanks!

Here is the relevant part in the message log (I think):

We are unable to reproduce this or see any reason why it could occur. It could be due to a connectivity issue on your side. Do you have Sierra Chart set to use a proxy server for HTTP communication?

No, I don't. Its the same regular connection I've been using successfully with Sierra Chart for years. Everything is working fine for NQ data, just not ES.

We do not know what the problem is in your case. Try restarting Sierra Chart. Try restarting your computer and do the download again:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

We have never seen an issue like this before.

I restarted my computer, re-opened Sierra Chart, selected Edit >> Delete All Data and Download and selected all contracts in the list.

That update worked and brought my charts up to date. However, the next time I opened that Chartbook, I got the error again and my charts did not get updated with the latest data.

The only way to update appears to be to use Edit >> Delete All Data and Download everytime I open the chartbook. Any ideas?

We need to see again exactly what this error is:
I got the error again and my charts did not get updated with the latest data.

Again post the Message Log with this information. Instructions:

I just sent the Message Log for analysis. I did not want to post it because it is long and would take up a lot of space on the board.

What specific message in the log are you referring to?

One thing we see is a large number of errors like this:
NQM22-CME [C] Daily #11 | File NQH00-CME.dly has a volume of 0 at 2000-03-08. | 2022-05-25 22:54:42.241

That's not the problem. My NQ charts are updating well. I believe this is the relevant part of the message log:

HD Request # 1 | Downloading Historical Daily chart data for ESM22-CME. Starting date: 2022-05-20. Service: scdataallservices | 2022-05-26 11:38:36.242
HD Request # 1 | JSON parse error of SC External HD service: The document is empty. | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828 *
HD Request # 1 | Error downloading historical Daily data for ESM22-CME. The server returned an error. | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828
HD Request # 1 | Received 0 Daily data records from 00:00:00 to 00:00:00 (0.0 seconds) and wrote 0 records for ESM22-CME | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828
HD Request # 1 | Completion time: 1m 44s. | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828
HD Request # 1 | Daily data download complete for ESM22-CME. Unique request ID: 1 | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828
Removing historical data download ID 1. | 2022-05-26 11:40:20.828

The net result is that every time I open my chartbook, the latest data since the last time I had it open does not get filled in/updated. First a blue notice says downloading continuous contract data, but then a red box appears saying download failed and that the server has encountered an error. I do see the current days candle but then there is a data gap between that and the day the last time I opened my chart.

I am going to create a new chartbook with only one ES chart on it and no indicators and see if I get the error. I will test it out next week.

We want you to disable the use of Custom Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Disabling Custom Symbol Settings

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

I reduced the number of days on my chart as you instructed until no 0 volume error messages showed up in my message log and that solved the problem. Thanks!
