Hello,
I love Sierra Chart and would like to use it for charting only. I will be executing my trades on another platform.
Do I still need to get exchange data from CQG or Rithmic?
If I get Sierra Chart datafeed and exchange feed, can I execute trades on Sierra Chart without opening another brokerage account?
Thank you for answering.

First refer to this section here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges (Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges)

You will definitely need to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed for data:

What brokerage is your trading account with now?

If Tradestation uses CQG or Rithmic for their Order Routing (we do not know if they do, you would need to check with them), then you can use that account to verify your non-professional status with the CME Group in order to get the real-time data for the Denali Exchange Data Feed. It will then be up to you whether you make your trades from Sierra Chart or if you just use Sierra Chart for charting.

Otherwise, if they do not use either CQG or Rithmic, then in order to qualify for the non-professional exchange fees from the CME Group, you would need to have another live futures trading account somewhere that you can connect to at least once a month.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

What you are seeing is delayed futures data:
Delayed Exchange Data Feed

For real-time data use this service:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

A real-time data for stocks, you need to use this service:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Also, I have a trial with rithmic but I couldnt use it as data on SC, can you help me with that please?
No, we do not provide support for these external services beyond giving you the documentation here but you are just going to have problems:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service

You are much better off using our own data feeds which will work properly.

Ok, I'd like to use SC data for futures and stocks in real time.
Do I need CQG or can I use SC data only. The execution will be on another platform.
Thanks

The one issue you might have is with the CME Group data. The CME Group has a requirement that in order to qualify for their non-professional exchange fees, you need to have (and be able to prove) a live, funded, futures trading account. For more information on this, refer to the following:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges

As we noted above, if your Tradestation account uses CQG or Rithmic for their order routing, then we can connect to that service to validate your account.

For other data, there is not an issue. You will use the Denali Exchange Data Feed for the CME Group, EUREX, and CFE data. For stocks, you would use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

Refer to the following for the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

And refer to the following for the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed:

From user:

Hello,
I'm sorry CME is making this confusing.
I asked around and looked up, there is no way for me to prove to CME that I'm a non-professional in order to qualify for the reduced rates.
My questions are:
- Do I have to go with a supported broker like AMP to get real time data?
- Why can't SC provide real time data for futures and stocks as well?
- Since options are not supported on SC, I just need access to real time data for futures and stocks, why do I have to open an account at AMP?

Thank you

Do I have to go with a supported broker like AMP to get real time data?

Yes, you need to be with a broker that has support for the Trading Services that Sierra Chart has interfaces for. Those are CQG, Rithmic, and the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service for order routing services, and we also have support for TransAct and Interactive Brokers that have their own connections and do not use one of the other three.

Therefore, it is true that you need this regardless of whether you are getting the data from us or not, as you need to connect to that broker to make trades, or at least to verify your CME Group eligibility.

Why can't SC provide real time data for futures and stocks as well?

We have data for both futures and stocks. The futures tend to be in the Denali Exchange Data Feed (CME Group, EUREX, and CFE), and the stocks are in the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart

Since options are not supported on SC, I just need access to real time data for futures and stocks, why do I have to open an account at AMP?

You need to open an account if you want to make trades, or if you want to qualify for the non-professional CME Group data.

We do have support for Options, by the way. Refer to the following:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Futures Options
