just downloaded 2292....causing consistent shutdown error upon reversing position... Example: MESU21 MAX POSITION SET 10 using 3 lots: build to long 9....then reverse...so short 3...once you add the second 3 lot to newly reversed position...now short 6...system error generated and shuts down...upon restart...you are short 6...with 9 in the brackets...or the bracket orders disappear and you have NAKED position...shutdown occurs whether initially long or short CONSISTENT RECURRENCE when using trade commands from control bar....DOES NOT OCCUR using trade window... please help |

We are unable to reproduce this, but it is being looked into. Can you please attach the Chart that has this issue along with the Sierra4.config file that is located at the top-level of the Sierra Chart installation (typically C:\SierraChart). Refer to the following for how to attach files: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

The Sierra4.config file is in the main Sierra Chart top level folder (one up from the data folder that holds the Chartbooks). Typically it is C:\SierraChart, but it could be anywhere on your system, as it is really up to you as to where you put it.

We are not able to reproduce this using your files. We did both buy and sell at the market 3 times using a quantity of three, using your control bar buttons, to take the position to +9/-9 and then reversed, and then added to that position multiple times. Everything completely stable. First thing we want to do is to run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode: Sierra Chart - Software Login Instructions: Using Safe Mode We want you to enable this option: General Settings Window: Save Message Log to File (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Log >> Log) We also want you to update to version 2293 although that should not matter and see if you still notice the problem.: Software Download: Fast Update Currently this is the prerelease but it is fine to use. Problem persists on my end and is consistent through all of my workspaces...and TWconfig files...exists with hitting the bid or ask or mkt order buttons on the control bar after reversal...but not the trade window...4 years with your software and zero glitches until now. safe mode did not cure...2293 prelease also did not cure...2293 giving more errors as random entry orders appear on replay intermittently.... issue remains unresolved |

giving more errors as random entry orders appear on replay intermittently.... Let us focus on this issue first. Why is this happening? It is not Sierra Chart on its own submitting those orders. Check for the origin of them in the Trade Activity Log:Trade Activity Log Analysis: Determining the Origin of a New/Modified Order We will need to do a remote assistance session with you to observe this and see what more we can determine: Problem persists on my end and is consistent through all of my workspaces...and TWconfig files..

We may have discovered what is causing this problem and it would seem to be related to a compiler optimization bug. We have released a new revision of 2294 with a reduced use of stack space related to modifying orders from the chart. When you can, do update to prerelease 2294 and let us know if it resolves the issue. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. There was an issue due to an incorrect version number during the last half day where the prerelease was not available. It is now.

Sorry for the delay...2294 is functioning as normal. None of the previous issues exist. Thank you for your detailed and prompt attention to this matter. LG |

Ok good, this does confirm, that the reduced stack space has fixed the issue. We are still doing a careful review to see if there is anything in Sierra Chart which was corrupting the stack but that would be extremely unlikely which would really only point therefore to a problem at the compiler level for an unknown reason.
